Thought he was great. Glad to see him kicking on, hopefully he continues to work hard because at the moment I’m pleased.

like he does most weeks. There's a pattern that can be seen every week.

pre match - Honeyman starts again man. He's shit! Pathetic.

first half - take Honeyman off at half time. He's shit.

second half - we score with Honeyman in the team, we play well with Honeyman in the team, we win with Honeyman in the team.

post match - Honeyman played well today/tonight.

*repeat*

happens every week without fail.
You’ve been reading the match day threads closely!

Probably my favourite moment of the match was him holding off two of their players at the corner flag for what seemed like for ages then winning the throw. Was right in front of us and everyone went mental for it and he just walked away staring at us all with a wry grin which set it all off another few notches.

What a cracking night!!

Think the fans really want this kid to be a success here, his attitude is infectious.

No need for Cattermole, long term.

As much as O'nien caused problems in terms of giving the defence no time to settle it meant Honeyman was deep in midfield alongside McGeough and central midfield as a result just wasn't good enough, to weak and too easily bypassed. Cattermole is still massive for us even if he had a brain fart or two before half time, he probably kept us competing and in the game before that and we just haven't got an adequate replacement.

much more effective than honeyman

You can't say that of ten mins or so man. It's like saying McGeady is so much more effective than Maguire because he put a couple of crosses in his five minute cameo where Maguire had struggled to deliver any thing like that during the rest of the game. I think O'nien has to be involved a bit more, but he's had two short cameos against tired legs.

Seems we have a settled formation. Thought we were outnumbered in the middle tonight as Honeyman didn't make the third central mid when we out of possession. O9 played that position better when he came on - got back and forward more effectively. O9 or George? JR will pick George every time atm.
O9 the new Gary Owers,

honeyman has been dire all season, too soft and small to play in the middle, should either play out wide or not at all.

Thought Honeyman looked class when he came on against Shrewsbury, but was very quiet again tonight. Shame he’s the captain as Id like to see ONien given a chance to start. At least there’s the cup games coming up.

Proved his worth as an impact sub and versatile enough to replace any midfielder, so I think he's being used very wisely by Mr Ross. We really do have some very decent options across the midfield.
