O'Nien - To be sold in January 2020 ?

If the year extension means he'll only have a year left in the summer, if we really wanted to keep him we'd be offering a new 2 or 3 year improved deal.
Exactly, remember when Dean Whitehead was improving think he signed 3 new contract extensions in a year and a half. Offer O9 a 3 year deal with a silly get out clause that increases with promotion (I know 😂)

He's 25 years old, playing pretty well in a poor team, chips in with goals and can cover multiple positions. A lot of championship clubs are looking very closely at him and I know for a fact that Fulham, Charlton and Cardiff have all had scouts watch him recently. The kid is at that age where if he stays with us and we don't bounce back he may never get another opportunity to step up to that level and the fact he is in the situation he is in with his contract makes it easier for a club higher up to take a punt as the fee will be relatively low.

Sure I heard our owners say that they would not fall into the trap of letting saleable assets run down their contract and that contracts would always have the extra year option built in as part of the piss take party being over yet half our squad are coming to the end of a 2 year deal with no renewal offers in sight - yet again totally inept management of the situation, O'Nein should have been tied down after breaking into the first team at the back end of last season.

Shows how far we have fallen as a club when he’s possibly our best player.

I suspect if you surrounded him with top Championship players he'd raise his game and look fine.

The very fact that so many in this thread don't want to sell him makes it obvious why other teams are eyeing him up.

My pal is a Chairboys' fan, and O'Nien was his favourite player before he left, for a combination of his skill, work rate and positive attitude.

Please don't shoot the messenger. I'm not ITK, nor is my brother-in-law who lives in West London but keeps hearing his name mentioned as a realistic target. It may just be bollocks. Feel free to call me a scare-mongering idiot.

Apparently Fulham are interested and are likely to make a bid in January whether or not his one-year contract extension option is exercised by SAFC.

Knowing our clubs recent history regarding cashing in on saleable assets, I'm not confident they'd make much effort to get him to stay. Yes, they could hold him to his contract.

He's probably the only player at the club I'd want to keep.

Bullshit
