32 in a couple of months and Distin is 35....added to O'Shea (almost 32), Carlos (31) Wesley (33) Titus (almost 32) and Killa "(29).....they won't exactly be improving at that age.

I was just being contrary marra, I couldnt care less about this ridiculous hypothetical debate about who we coulda/shoulda/woulda signed

Know what?

The truth is we failed to strengthen our first team in January.

You can play Deep Throat all you want - whatever the fiendish master plan was, it didn't deliver what we needed in January and that's a fact.

That the Mangane signing has proved to be shocking.

As for plan B,a high wage bill can put you in that situation.

do we never learn though, why are we looking to bring in players in their mid thirties??,its mental.

TBF its all guesswork, I doubt SCT definately knows who we almost signed or were looking at, its a nothing debate

If he was good enough or fit enough he would have played.

If he isn't fit enough, why did we sign him?

If he is, the implication is he's no better than O'Shea or Titus.

I don't see how you can spin this any other way. We needed someone to improve the first team. We haven't got it. That makes Mangane by default a bad signing because he isn't what we needed - someone to come in and play.

The simple fact that be still hasn't played for us means we can.

TBF that isn't true. There are plenty on here suggesting that Johnson is a terrible signing. There is every chance that he will prove to be the exact opposite over the course of his contract. On a smaller scale, if Mangane comes into the team before the seasons end, plays well, earns a contract and goes on to be a mainstay in our team he will have proved to have been an excellent loan. The ultimate worth of a signing is not determined at the start or middle of a players term here. It can only be done at the end.

Are you not spinning it in your opinion?

He has been poor up to this point. I agree though he could still prove to be a decent signing.

It might have something to do with the fact that we have two very highly rated young centre halves on the clubs books that we will be looking to transition into the first team over the next year or two. There is not much point in bringing in two young centre halves to be our first choice for years to come if we feel that we already have those players at the club.
