For shear bordem rather than owt else. for me it must be stoke @ home last season. absolute f***ing dross served up by both teams.

4-1 loss at home to bolton (keane's last game) was a bad afternoon like.
our general shitness at the time reached a new low that day.

The 7-1 at Everton for me anarl, if the result and performance wasn't bad enough, my seat was right in the corner, next to the scousers and uncovered; add to this they didn't serve beer in the ground and god knows we needed it and finally to top it all my next door neighbour is an Everton fan and was waiting to ask me how the game had gone when I got back

the one game i felt the first lows of my football supporting life - but at the same time knew i could never be the same again. as an impressionable 9 year old heading down to london with my dad and uncle for the play off final. Id seen the last season at roker, wins over arsenal and man utd but our eventual relegation, which had pushed me to tears as news from selhurst came through. taunts at my central newcastle state school, which would continue for the rest of my childhood. wed recovered - quinn and phillips pushing us to an excellent season - the 3-0 win away at forest a partcular highpoint. id seen us win away on the last day of the season knowing it made no difference. the playoff semis were amazing - the best atmosphere i have ever experienced at a footbal game and lionels double save - but noting prepared me for wembley.

to talk through the game would take me more than one post; but after shedding many tears came the words from my uncle which will always be true; "welcome to life as a sunderland fan" - and here i am, sunderland till i die. fuck its great to support this club.

First game to be shown on pay per view. Travelled to watch the match and watched the worst game of football I have ever seen. Quite a few fans even left at half time.

Semi Final v Millwall
Thought we were guaranteed to beat them bassas and be playing in Europe. f***ing gutted.

Forgot to mention the 1st part was about Oxford 0-0 Sunderland

Similar to the other thread. I know there are loads to choose from but what is the one game you wish you never went to

Mine would be the 7-1 defeat to Everton

The only time I have left early, we were 1-0 to the mags and then self destructed and lost 3/4-1 not sure cos' I left early/or want to erase from mind

hull 3-2 safc. One new years day morning kick off. Hoyed up all the way down. Safc ripped off as bennett scored an equaliser that was not given.

Only cheered up by first sight of penshaw monument, on the way back, when news came through that the mags had lost 0-4 to wolves at home and steve bull scored all four iirc

1-4 ;)

Mags at home 4-1
Pompey at home the same Season
Brentford away the same Season
Wigan at home the Same Season
Boro at Home the same season

There's a massive f***ing list from that season.

easy the mags 4-1. Best 45mins of the season followed by worst 45mins ever !!

Apart from the mags home 1-4 defeat, boro was the last home game for me that season, just had enough of driving back, defeat after defeat

Got about £80 back on the vouchers i sold for home games, least i got something back, but a very small consolation

5th round replay - League Cup 1990.

5-0 defeat against Coventry. The Lads forgot about the ball that night and spent 90mins trying to kick Speedie out of the ground.
