One Sunderland you wish you had never been at

You lucky Bastard i dream of seeing only one 8 - 0 defeat. I was at watford and all.
Mine would be the 4-1 victory at the den round 76-77. some bastard was chasing me wielding a meat cleaver. Can't remember the score at the time but I did leave in a hurry.

I was there for that and it's the first time I'd ever seen police walk away from a fight. We went down again for the 1-0 win, late 70's, when Entwhistle scored. The Millwall lot were being filmed, in the streets, for a documentary and acting up for the cameras.

It wasn't the worst trouble I've ever seen but it continued for the whole day and after the match. We couldn't get tickets and had to go in the side with Millwall, what a scruffy bunch of scumbags.

This game for me as well to be fair, I was wearing a permed wig and a stick on tache, which lets be honest made me look like a prick before I had opened my mouth. Giving it the big one to loads of manky scousers before kick off, calm down, calm down and all that shit.

The wig came off after the 2nd went in, the tache after the 3rd. we were half way down the M62 by the time 5,6 and 7 went in with the memory of 20 f***ing scousers shouting calm down, calm down at me as I was leaving

f***ing Goodison

Aye, I'm pretty sure 90% of Sunderland games I have not enjoyed the match....higher % for away games.

Aside from the obvious games one game I absolutely hated was the 05/06 Pompey home game (Taylors crazy goal). Sort of confirmed we were utter shite & doomed for relegation so early in the season.

Mags away 2-0 in 2008, Owen with two. Shite day from the minute we got to the Landfill and seen the team news, and then sitting on a bus for almost two hours after the match just topped it off.

One that sticks out is Crewe away the day we won the rugby world cup 2003 it might have been, got beat 3-0 or something

canny day out that like. apart from the match. ashton hatrick wasn't it?

remember getting in on an under 12's ticket for a quid. i was about 30 at the time

Semi final vs. Millwall.

Shite game, and a shite view too. Two rows from the front at the side; couldn't see the ball when it was on the other side of the pitch. £55 for that!

Was offered £200 outside by someone desperate to get in. Would not sell it though as I was sure we'd beat those bastards.

Gutted!

Could have gone and watched it in the pub, got pissed, and put the rest on them winning.

1) 4-1 against the mags, a woeful memory. The only day I've regretted living in South Shields, the amount of stick I got off strangers and me mates was unbearable.

2) 4-1 against Bolton, Keane's last game before he walked out. I remember the Bolton fans singing "You're getting sacked in the morning" on the way back home I just couldn't be bothered to do anything, I just sat down on the Metro and stared blankly out the window.

3) 3-1 vs Charlton, a shambles of a day. I remember when Gray (?) scored I was thinking that we would win then, well we all know the rest. The only good thing about the day was the fans.

Honourable mentions to; Fulham home draw last season and Hearts away last season because of the Central Station incident.

Jesus, I forgot all about that until now. Quite easily the worst 90 minutes of football I have ever witnessed in my short life.

I was at West Ham for the 8-0 as well. Hurst got 6, but the first was handball.

Astonishing how many others were there. Were any of you from North Herts?

Ipswich away around Christmas 2001 I think. 4-0 down at half time, sorry to say that was enough for me..it finished 5-0.

Also not so fond memories of losing 1-0 at Reading a few years ago in a night match, only cos missed kick off and goal due to queing outside for most of first half to pay to get in through the one turnstile that was open.

What about the charlton home game in january 03 when we scored all 4 goals in a 3-1 defeat, i left at half time
