The independent music was ground breaking the charts shiteFunny how the 80's are revered now, nobody would play 80's tunes in the mid 90's to late 00's
I must get over Kim leaving and go see them
They were lovely in the late 80's. If a bit freaked by the reception and the mosh pit. A friend got hurt at the newcastle gig 1989(?), they made a point of visiting her in hospital after the gig to see she was alright.Totally get where you’re coming from , Paz Lechantin is as good a replacement as possible. Clearly a nice person too . Obviously Charles writes the songs and music anyway . His alternative was disbanding the thing, but if he enjoys playing then why not. He’s been prolific creativity wise .
Really liked his debut album and Teenager of the Year . Also a few Catholics albums .
I bumped into Kim on the stairwell at Manchester Academy 2 for a Breeders gig years ago . Stopped for a chat . She’s always smiling

Afor getting our cans from Mavis Skinnersforgot about that, just bought them at foxcover garage same morning
Awful stuff ,championed by the Floppy shouldered secondhand clothes wearers of the timeMore like one of the worst
in was crazy in sheffield in 1989/1990, i seem to remember. Only caught them in London at the alexander palace 2005 . thought i'd be able to get tickets on the door early morning as Reading used to hold a few back for locals on the day but with qotsa and the pixies headlining no chance.I think I had that gig on bootleg vinyl . There was a pic of them on the Tyne Bridge on the cover .
In Glasgow ‘91 the crowd barrier collapsed during Tame , 3 songs in . The gig was cancelled and free coaches provided for anyone who wanted to go the Manchester GMEX gig the following night.
At that gig, the house lights came on at the end and as people were leaving they came back on to play Tame. Loads of fans were running back towards the stage . It was a fairly crazy site.
Dunno if you’ve seen the 1990 full gig on YouTube? From Brixton . The reception at Brixton in 2004 when they reformed , was like Sunderland out of the tunnel at Wembley 85. I’m not joking . It was intense and the band just went to the front of the stage as a thank you . They looked unnerved .
This is Tame from Brixton encore 1990
80’s thread Marra.
To be fair I was on a thread discussing cricket and got told to fuck off for discussing cooking….feel your pain like.I'm being kicked off a thread for digressing from the subject? If only somebody had told me about this rule in 1998 I'd have avoided sooo much embarrassment over the past 25 years

FfsSurely discussig cooking when you're supposed to be talking about cricket is completely in the spirit of Test Match Special?

I was gonna post wrote for luck, especially this mix. Remember seeing it on the chart show, and being really blown away by it. Mixing indie music which I loved with acid house which I loved since hearing s express, guy called gerald, lil Louis etc . Fools gold also had the mix of indie and dance. Superb
Curiosity . Absolutely superb.
