Mr B got the Olympus Pen PL8 for a big birthday recently as a surprise gift. He's not a photographer at all.

I know nowt about it. I have a Nikon D3300 and have used Nikon DSLR for years. The Pen looks interesting, but I'm not really sure what the difference is between that and a "proper Slr"? It's got interchangeable lenses and looks like it does everything mine does?

Is it summat to do with sensor size?
 


Looks like it's a digital rangefinder. Also has a selfie mode.

I have a couple of film rangefinders ad they're great for high quality photography in a small camera. I love mine.

There area lot of four thirds lenses out there too, so if he likes it, he can do a lot with it.
