Ole gunner Solskjaer thoughts?

No for me. He might be able to get a few good loans, Scandinavian market also got some cheap gems. Just seems too soft is he the motivator we need?
Bring in Danny Collins, points out the obvious faults every game. Only trouble being he is low profile.

Got the shitshow that was Man Utd to 2nd place in the EPL whilst managing to go over a calendar year without losing away from home to anybody.
Not given nearly enough credit for the job he did. Only really started to go to ratshit for him after Woodward insisted on bringing Ronaldo back for commercial reasons instead of a younger striker.
Time may show that his coaches like McKenna & Carrick played a big part in that but he's an easy target for the know nowts to laugh at despite doing a job at least as good as, if not better than Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Rangnick & Ten Hag.
I think he did a decent job at United as a manager but not really a coaching manager. Then again even Fergie relied on his coaches like Kidd, McClaren, Querioz, Meleunstein etc to do much of it just like Ole did with McKenna & Carrick.
I think he did well at Utd and was focused on developing young players. He’d do well I think

The "Be careful what you wish for" phrase has been used by someone on here to describe people wanting Tony Mowbray out, i think given some of our managerial appointments over the last 20 years it's very pertinent.

There could be a collective groan at the news of Tony's replacement, followed by not what we wanted but i''ll give him a chance, followed 6 months later by he needs to go but who do we get to replace him.

Can we all start a thread with the names of random out of work managers ?
Why would you do that anyway given we have a manager?

Not sure he'd do particularly well for you. He wouldn't have the knowledge of players to suit where you are now. Think he failed at Cardiff for that reason.
Was different for him at United, he was fishing in a better known premier league market. He bought players to do the job he wanted for the style he wanted them to play. A lot of his signings at United have been ridiculed by subsequent managers who want to play a different way but they were right for what Ole wanted to do. If you want to play a high line defensive pressing game you don't buy Maguire but for the deep sitting counter attacking style he wanted he did a good job. Similarly if you want a good attacking full back you don't buy Wan Bissaka who gets a nosebleed if he crosses the halfway line, but if you're buying a full back to defend he's one of the best one on one full backs in the league.

Think he's probably better suited a club where he can surround himself with good coaches but he's unlikely to get that kind of opportunity again. His time is probably done.

I’m not sure. He did alright at United, it’s not an easy job up there as we can see but it ended quite badly for him. That was a club he knew inside out as well as having big resources. Completely different type of job is required here and not one I think he would be suited to.

I thought he would have done a good job at Cardiff after starting well at Molde, did badly but since went back to Molde and a year at Man Utd and maintained an impressive 54% win ratio. If it wasn’t for the Cardiff gig he would have an impressive CV. Also he is available.
