ole gunnar solskjær

A number of times when we have been looking for new managers his name cropped up and the response always seemed to be similar that we shouldnt go for a Rookie manager, that winning in a 2nd rate league like Norway didnt mean he would do well at a club as big as Sunderland. Thread below seems typical of the stuff that was written.

Hmmmm, that rookie doing his apprenticeship in Norway seems to be doing canny at one of the biggest club sin the world that prior to him arriving was utter dog shit.

Wonder how it would have turned out if we had signed him, he really does look like a quality manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær

30 games / 9 wins at Cardiff.

One of the all time greats.

The "special one" couldnt get even half a tune out of it though and the start he has had is nothing short of remarkable, won every game in both league and cup since he arrived I think, pretty impressive stuff for any new manager.

Because the downed tools and weren’t playing for him. They’ll sharp turn on Ole when the mood suits.

Remember our lot staying up under Sbragia as caretaker after someone had been sacked, all the players begging for him to be full time gaffer and as soon as he was they reverted to type.

What's their 'type'?

Playing attractive footy and winning is their way. It was Jose who went against it not them

That's the art of management these days though, especially at big clubs with lots of big egos. How to keep all the players happy, hungry and all pulling in the right direction.

Jose seems to have totally lost the plot on how to man manage in his last few jobs and Sarri appears to be going the same way at Chelsea.

He has got good players at his disposal and is a cheery fucker who isn't at war with his players as a starting point. Miserable bastards like Mourinho and err..Moyes think a 1-0 win is only marginally better than nowts each. The test would be in the transfer market, spending millions. There is a big difference taking over Manchester United with a multi million pound squad and turning up for a relegation battle at Sunderland with a disinterested owner and no cash to splash. He would have been a big gamble for us, he isn't much of a risk there, he couldn't do much worse than the Special One
