Old Sunderland Clubbing Photos

Clubbing photos and story’s from 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. I’m a 90’s child, so obviously didn’t go clubbing in that time, but I love hearing stories from friends and family members who are older than me. They all say it’s sad to see a lot of the places no longer there, like Annabell’s etc. Share your stories and photos… nothing like a bit of nostalgia.
The early 00’s was brilliant. No social media. Met your mates put on the baggiest shirt you could find, some trousers and a pair of shoes and went out without a care in the world. Think I’ve said this before but we would go out on a Thursday, Friday Saturday, Sunday.

On a Sunday in Sunderland we would go baraoque, ye olde transporter, bar me, Modo, SR1, brogans, idols, boulevard, Harley’s, underground, chambers, ku and through the bridges to beach. I loved privilege and pizazz as well.

Often used to venture to Baja and the boat in Newcastle as well. Simpler times. No big lips or turkey teeth and people taking pictures for instagram. It was people just having fun. I often tell the younguns that if I could transport them back they would be surprised how busy it was and how much of a laugh it was

Marlowes and libertys on a Wednesday night £1 a can/bottle

Class nights and i was at school the next day as well :)

Probs about 1989/90 ish

He played ford and Hylton club my dad told me this
It was that when I used to go in 99/00

Then round to either Ku or pizzazz on a Thursday night.

Used to come back through on a Thursday for the first couple of weeks once I went to uni. One of my mates who started working after our A levels lived in a flat above a shop in the town. A throughly enjoyable time as a young 18 year old with a student loan in the bank

Loved Annabells, Fusion, Finos and the mecca. My fave pub from 80s was 5th avenue, the painted wagon and the old 29.
Dial 9
Rumours
Annabel's
Ku Club
Fusion
Genevieve's
Hot Spot
Chambers
Blue Monkey
Finos
Bentleys

Dixons

What was the club called beside the Bonnersfield pub ?

Anyone think of any more ?
Manor Quay !
Was it the Barbary Coast.

In the early 2000s, Chambers turned into a rock nightclub and downstairs was a lapdancing place. If you got a bit bored in the club or just fancied a wander you could go downstairs into the lapdancing bit and get a drink there and there'd be naked lasses walking about.

Chucking out time also coincided with the Gregg's on fawcett st that used to be there being restocked and other food being taken away. We used to stop and ask if we could have some pasties and stuff, used to get loads for the walk home 😄

It's been scientifically proven that 1995-2007 was the best time in the history of the world.
