Old Sunderland Clubbing Photos

I think you're more likely to get stories than photos. For the periods you're asking about, smartphones either hadn't been invented or were expensive and few and far between.

To get photos would mean someone taking an actual camera out with them and nobody did that when they were out on the pull. The only photos taken were by the venues themselves for publicity purposes or by the local papers for specific articles.

Even then, the photos were not like the ones you see nowadays - mostly they were groups of friends trying to get as many as possible into frame by hook or by crook, everybody grinning and gurning, hair all over the place, drink evident in their expressions. Now, they are staged and choreographed to perfection, especially the lasses. One knee bent, standing sideways on, looking over one shoulder, pouting rather than smiling. They don't actually look like they are out enjoying themselves. When you do see photos from way back, people look more natural and look like they're having a whale of a time regardless of the location or venue - not like they're posing for a magaazine shoot or on the red carpet.
You are spot on. These are from birmingham.

One person getting the early stamp for Chambers and then doing a willy wafer on our hands to pass it on. Never failed.

One of the lasses who knocked about with us would make a smudge out of lipstick and that worked as well.
