Word is that the new notes are our soon so all the old dears with wads of £20 under the bed are off down Chester Road buying owt for a quid just to get clean change.......
Don't need to do it straight away. Normally have a 6 months or so before old notes are withdrawn. So the new note is coming on the 20th Feb.
I'm gonna look shifty as owt, taking me stash into the bank to exchange it....
AFAIK it's not 6 months from when the new ones come out. They will announce a date at some point with 6 month deadline.Don't need to do it straight away. Normally have a 6 months or so before old notes are withdrawn.

That's what I meant. Deposit old notes in to your account and then withdraw the new ones.Bank wont swap,if your taking £1000's in you have to pay it into your account,i tried it with old tenners![]()
Tbf the 6 months was just a guesstimate of sorts. The point was that they don't just withdraw them from immediate effect, they do give you enough time to change/spend them.AFAIK it's not 6 months from when the new ones come out. They will announce a date at some point with 6 month deadline.
And even after that you can take them to a bank I think, or to the BoE itself any time thereafter.Tbf the 6 months was just a guesstimate of sorts. The point was that they don't just withdraw them from immediate effect, they do give you enough time to change/spend them.
Out with the queens head is worth face value if paid in at a bank regardless of age.And even after that you can take them to a bank I think, or to the BoE itself any time thereafter.
I thought when you said swap you didn't mean deposit,no bank will just swap,crossed-wires.That's what I meant. Deposit old notes in to your account and then withdraw the new ones.
You can.And even after that you can take them to a bank I think, or to the BoE itself any time thereafter.
