If you look at how easy it is for them to stroll over us never mind walk over us we are being mauled. They’ve not broken sweat. It’s first gear football from them. It’s been so ridiculously easy.

It’s like putting Ivan Drago in a boxing match with Amir Khan in Moscow.

We look so out of our depth in the Championship.
Idiot. We were the better team for most of the first half. Negative beyond belief.

More experienced players have done far worse than what Neil did.
As another poster pointed out he made another massive error in the Coventry game that thankfully went unpunished.

He’s got to learn where to play and where it’s just asking for trouble

Thought we looked good first half. Can't complain with the red. 2nd time that's happened with Neil in as many games. If that's Evans he wouldn't lose it but even if he did he'd know it's pointless pulling the lad back.

Learning curve for Neil. Not sure what AN can do. We still carry a threat even with 10. Maybe Simms off for Wright and push O Nien into midfield. Pritchard could play off Stewart with the ball and drop in without.

Think he may take Simms off for Roberts, just to hold the ball up.
Roberts hasn't got the discipline for 45 mins in a game like this. Vital that we don't concede a second early after the break.

If Roberts comes on it must be late on to try and nick one.

Arm round his waist and then an arm on the shoulder it’s clumsy at best and deliberately not playing the ball at worst. I don’t think we can have any complaints with it in honesty.

Just a mistake by Neil then a panicked reaction.
It strikes me that it’s relevant what the attacker does. If he stays on his feet (as the contact isn’t strong enough to pull down) is it still a red? Players put hands on shoulders and shirts throughout a game like that and it’s not a foul. I’m being genuine btw, not entirely sure what the rule is here

What inflatable?
My children are in bed, my wife is at netball, I’m drinking wine and wanted to watch sport - flicked in sky sports and this is on.

Been a relatively even game although thought Sunderland edged it before the red card. It was a stupid foul, but clear red card. I’d be angry about conceding that goal, but I always am from set pieces.

Nah it was a red card all day long unfortunately. O'Nien was miles away so he was last man.

In all honesty Batth shouldn't have been playing the ball in there. Clear it down the line, but one bed touch and here we are.
I know it was but I've seen refs bottle those decision where the attacker is still outside the box

What's he done wrong like? Patterson that is.

He has no presence in the area. If I'm a defender, I'm not 100% confident with him behind me either. I mean, he's a local lad and he won the jersey last season, so fair play, but this is too big a step for him at the moment IMO. He'll end up going backwards in his development. We need a tough, experienced keeper in there. Whether someone of the required quality is available is perhaps somewhat more of an issue.
