“I thought ‘Crikey, I may actually have to make some phone calls here’ and find out a little bit more about them and find out what’s going on”

😂I’m going to guess this is something he didn’t do. Considering it took us “non-journalists” to find out all about them in 10 minutes via Google and Twitter
So kld statement of no contact has him lying again?.......this club??????:oops:

KLD might be happy with his stake, I just don't get why he wouldn't want more shares if they came available. He's the billionaire, and he's also the one who's putting the time and effort into running the club. More shares now means more money in the future, given that he presumably he believes in himself to raise the value of the club.

It would really make sense for either Kyril or someone linked to him to buy the shares. That said, it is Sunderland.

Tom White has done an interveiw explaining how he came about the info with Roker Report. Also says KLD is happy with his shareholding atm. Maybe there is no power struggle or plots to weaken other shareholders positions and the the shares are just available on the open market to anyone who can pay the money

Might be the equation for Donald and Methven, but it's not a good result for Kyril if these shares end up with "anyone".

Nah think hes been played a bit
Why would TFT seek him out and not some other local journo ...?
Nee idea but the end of the day it's ultimately down to the EFL to pass whichever bid the 2 chancers accept. The fact that these crypto tramps haven't a pot to piss in let alone finance the next 3 years means there's nothing to worry about

Is it nothing to do with his trust fund? He’s not got as much money (yet) as we think.

"Concerns over the spectacular spread of cryptocurrency across football cover a number of different angles: from their basic utility to the prospect of manipulation of secondary markets, where fan investors end up buying high only to see their asset crash in value. Crawley’s tokens, Johnson says, will be able to be resold and the fact of NFTs "currently taking a battering across the piece does not bother him unduly.

Green as grass, young Tom.
He mentions nothing about doing any homework on the people involved with them. He makes no comment on a club like Bradford Park Avenue (🙈) being mentioned and that article is just so lightweight and nonsensical.

Who invited him into the boardroom rather than him being with other media outlets? Why did he think the crypto weirdo’s were in there too? All very strange. I suppose Billy Storey and Lord Lucan were in there too?

The term in the boardroom implies an board meeting not just an informal collection of board members and their friends!
Mate, half of Oxford will have been “in the boardroom” on match days. This is all getting out of hand now. But hopefully it’ll all end as quickly as it appeared

KLD's statement was

“Neither I nor any other employee of from SAFC has had any dialogue with the Cryptocurrency Group ‘The Fans Together”

How is that a lie?

No it didnt, because it was before the Sheff Wed game. Probably an informal gathering pre match. Unlikely to be a board meeting then.

I wonder if this Tom White character has actually got a stake in these krypto muppets...
!f they can prove they have the funds well that's a rich bunch of Muppets.........it will come down to if and whether the EFL want to stir a fans hornets nest. We need the fans to bombard the efl e mail box.

He's said he waited and waited before breaking the story. He hasn't said if he's for or against it. He's given information and how he got it.

He has literally done nothing wrong. I genuinely can't see a single thing he's done wrong.
You must be blind and know little about how a capable, professional journalist would act, never mind one who purports to be a Sunderland fan.

This is before a match. Boardroom in this context means use of that room and adjacent areas for entertainment of opponents and invited guests of both directors and shareholders, plus corporates from the Riverside Brasserie. Looking at the area on the stadium map, it looks like the directors box (a misnomer if ever there was) seats about 250 people when full. People could be in there and KLD not even know.

Possibly, but you'd think if he couldn't afford the shares, he'd be a lot more welcoming to any other investors and to potentially selling his own stake. They're clearly asking for a lot for the shares, but in comparison to what it might take to get us challenging at the top of the Championship, it's probably not a lot.

Him saying that he's insistent on keeping control has to have scared some potential investors off. I'm just guessing like.

Not sure why Tom White is peddling the line the TFT offer is with the EFL at the moment, because it’s not even close to that stage.

There’s two offers on the table, neither has exclusivity, as confirmed by Charlie Methven. It’s all very odd.
