Surely you understand that as part owners and custodians of the business, the money that they have put in to keep the business running, can’t be classed as paying back the amount that they initially took out.

If they are having to make up a shortfall, that’s on them.
they didnt take any out..and as sharehodlers they have zero obligation to put cash in...the reason to own a business is to take profits and salaries out..HOWEVER they agreed to put in the £25m Short pocketed from the club...it was a bad deal they did but that was the deal and they are honouring it so far..
No one would own safc tpo put in £25m and the same again in running costs in league one..thats £50m plus the £12.7m they paid for the club..no one would put £62m into a business..not even the money launderers who have been operating at other clubs would do that...even Abramavhich has claimed he put noithing into chelsea

i ne ver said it had all been paid back..i said more than £20m has and the debt was £25m...
But you can’t take 25m of the clubs money, it then costs 20m to run the club and claim that you’ve paid it back. 25m should be in addition to those running costs.

It’s like me getting a car worth 25k. Not pay a penny for the car but put it 20k of fuel and claim I only owe 5k on it.

See this bit i don't understand some of the logic.

If they'd have paid 15 million for the club, left the 25 million in the bank and used it to pay the club running costs then they would have contributed the same amount.

I think the problem is that they said they paid 40 million for the club when in reality it was only 15 (give or take)

every single investment blackroick have in the world is a minority stake..its literally what they do..

what they dont do though..because they arent allowed to..is buy companies not listed on stock markets..
maybe they have one prodyct that does that, but its not their core business.
they invest a fair bit in private equity though.

I’m totally lost on the amount “paid back” like

Last I remember. They used club money to “buy” the club. So that was an imaginary £40m.

Then they borrowed money off the club.

Then they “paid back” £11m. And everything went all over my head

Yes they do invest in companies not listed, they have a load of investments in Indian startups and have extensive investments in China including some in State Owned Enterprises (they used to own 20% of China Bluestar). That said I don't think they would be the slightest bit interested in Sunderland as an investment.

Seems to me that SD and CM are backed into a corner. They want to get away with the full price without putting the parachute money back. Equally, they may not have the funds or appetite to keep funding it along with the other 61%. They have the option to gamble and keep going this season, but the question would be as to whether they can.

KLD and co are squeezing them into submission and I'd love to be a fly on the wall in SD's office.

All of the top four in england now are onwed by consortiums..the minority stake thing is not a problem for real bidders..blackrock is just a fantasy.

well if you do the research and read the publically available info you will see that more than £20m but less than £25m has gone in..so they havent put all the committed amount back in yet but have done more than £20m.
The reason [people are confused is, they think £20m was the prigianl amount, so when I say they have out £20m in, they refer to the minutes of a meeting saying it hasnt all been put back..but thats a reference to the £25m, not the £20m.

Utter rubbish
