Offer come in for the club (rumours thread)

I know it's all rumours, but I don't think there is any need whatsoever for fan ownership at any level of shareholding. A golden share idea where fans can veto things like selling the stadium, changing the strip to black and white stripes etc is a good idea. At present I want competent, preferably wealthy, businessmen to buy into the club. There's no point in fans having some token number of shares.

Equally I hope the crypto talk is a load of shite. A few clubs have got involved with selling nft's via crypto currency as per this article Football fans spending millions on club crypto-tokens This is likely different from any sort of share purchase via crypto but it all sounds like a great way of fans losing a fortune.

Again, I know it's just rumour and might well be bullshit, but since we've got a rumour thread we might as well discuss it!

Imagine if supporters had any influence whatsoever.

If anything went wrong other supporters, perhaps even the club, could lay some of the blame at their door.

I agree with you, the club should run the club and, if this forum is any guide, I wouldn't want supporters having influence.

We can't even agree, on here, about the slightest thing

Fair enough. It’s such a weird rumor you’d think there must be some truth to it, I hope they’ve got the wrong end of the stick.

If it comes up again in any official capacity I hope people will be quick to sound the alarm. There are plenty lessons to be had in not just uncritically accepting anyone as your new owners, both here and at other clubs.
Absolutely love a bit of drama you mind. Ffs get a grip man.

We’ve gone from the excitement of potential minted new owners to the unrealistic possibility of being owned by more money grabbing shysters wanting to fleece the supporters out of their hard earned.

While you pour on the petrol and fan the flames. Give ower.

Let's just keep this simple for the purposes of keeping the sheep under control before they worry themselves to death.

Facts as confirmed by the club - zero

Rumour - SD and CM have agreed to sell their shares.
There isnt even a solid rumour on who it is but there is a rumour in the press that a representative was among the 72k crowd.
Theres a rumour that the new group would like fans to be involved via share ownership and that rumour extends further to be that share ownership may be via crypto trading.

In others words people are getting worked up from a position of literally zero facts and alot of rumours - again.
The sale of shares is obviously more than a rumour when Tom White is directly tweeting about it. Everythin* else is speculation.

Why is one realistic and the other not? Are we only allowed to believe positive rumors?

Have you forgotten what happened last time we were taken over already?

Has MG done the books yet?
Had feet up and cans in the fridge for over a year now, well past the sell by date.

We would be sacking managers after 15mins being 1-0 down; then handing out massive contracts in the second half if we are 2-1 up.

Being owned by shysters is not unrealistic as we know but the thought that they want us to buy shares and rip us off in the process is.

Me and you or any other supporter could not buy shares in the club as it’s not a PLC so there’s no need to get all wound up about it.

Want they might be suggesting is that a fans group in agreement with the other owners could be offered a small share in the spirit of inclusivity and transparency.

Didn’t he use the parachute payment? And short wrote the loan off?

You say you do your research, claim to be savvy and smart yet it looks like you use DR google.

Claim to know nothing however spout more shite than others on this thread

@MADBOB THE MAKEM @deodrant2 and the other lad posting actually have got info right time and time again so I believe them.

You seem to just pull up most comments yet state you know nothing however some of the stuff you claim is either in the know or total guess work? Which one is it?

A total guess from me but KLD brother and mother have been at the sheff wed games and Wembley for the final.
Yes

I hope people keep their head this time. Having some posters taking about exciting times back and we are on our way etc. Let's just calm down, they're only buying 39%.

Just wait and see before judging imo. I'm with you, been burnt before with new owners.

I hear the word “crypto” and alarm bells go off, especially when it’s being talked about in terms of selling it to fans.

It may be nothing, it’s just one source and they might have the wrong end of the stick. I really hope that’s the case.
