Are people not getting confused with cryptocurrencies and crypto as a concept here? Buying shares in Sunderland with some form of crypto technology shouldn’t be the same as lumping a few quid into Dogecoin which can drop drastically.

The two can be true at once, crypto can be volatile and it can also be a convenient means of buying/selling shares.

In any scenario it will probably represent a tiny percentage of club ownership and completely optional so probably best to just hold fire on the speculation

Either way, if we want to move away from a volatile, murky, unstable and unreliable ownership model, this is not the answer.

Crypto has been dying a very public recent death
Which makes the timing of this all very odd, hopefully it’s a misunderstanding or bad info.

It’s been made apparent that it is what its critics always thought it was. An alternative currency not tied to or backed up by anything tangible.

What it’s reduced to at this point is people trying to take advantage of those who don’t really understand it, don’t have the money to spare, but hope they might make some by investing. I hope that’s not what is happening here.

If promotion increases the value than why would people buy a coin linked to the clubs success? What benefit does the club going up have on the online currency? Genuinely question.

I'm not that clued up but every piece I've read and listened to and it sound dodgey and unregulated ponzi schemes. I see the benefits for some.peoole, unsure how that related to the club.

Have to wait and see how the club go about it. Could be benefits tied in with purchasing the clubs coin. You can do pretty much anything you want.

Not every investor wants to be actively involved. In practice, any investor in a public company delegates the running of the business to another person. It's likely that an incoming investor would get a seat for themselves (or a representative) on the board of SAFC (Sartori is on there, and Vumbaca is thought to represent Donald and Methven). It's already been stated the KLD will remain as chairman, and the board is loaded with his appointees (MLD, Treuer, Levin, Davison and, in all probability Sartori). As such, he's de facto running the show.
That's all well and good ..but what I'm asking is can a deal made with Donald be made to stick with the new share owners.....what would happen if Santi sold 12% of his shares to the new investor? would the voting rights deal be there in perpetuity?

If you think this then you clearly don't understand Crypto. Crypto may be volatile atm, but it's here to stay and will be more widely used that normal cash in the not too distant future.
That's not what he's saying though, it has been dying a public death of late. That's not to say it won't return to previous levels or higher but having no real regulatory framework makes it impossible to do anything but guess as to the future.
