they havent been happy with him for the last few games, he is a decent manager who can grind out results against hard to beat team, i cant stand the bloke but i have a grudging respect for him for what he has accomplished at Stoke for relatively nothing, i think they need an established manager now though, they needed one in the summer just to freshen it up as they are really starting to get found out and Pulis has no plan B.

they just look one dimensional and poor for long periods and i think its time for the change.
they are in a similar position to us under Bruce in needing to kick on but they are stalling now, someone like Hodgson would suit them imo

What about an unemployed geordie lad that recently lost his job at the SOL. Now he'd really suit them im- not so- ho

I don't know what makes my eyes hurt more, trying the see the yellow ball or reading that forum.

Why is it every other club's forum looks a f***ing mess compared to ours?

So happy that we can't put photos and stupid videos in the sig bit. It just makes forums look a utter mess

Hes spent over 90million on players since they came up. He hasnt exactly made much back selling players either. Pissed away a fortune but this always seems to get ignored with Stoke because they are seen as "plucky"

This is spot on, he gets a load of crap but his job is to maintain Stoke as a Premier team on a limited budget and he's done that and got them into Europe.

Aye, how much on Palacios and he barely gets a game for them

Do you have stats for that, very interested as I hadn't realised he'd spent so much

i honestly didnt know hed spent that much:eek:

a fair whack of thats got to come from the panic buying of Crouch and Valencia in the summer like, summit like £20 million the pair?

Huth's was never a red, but somehow Fuller ended the game without a card to his name and O'Shea was booked. Truly baffling.

this.

He tackled Colback from behind and wiped Barsdsley's legs out

The Colback one was a straight red. Much more than Huth's. He was ankle high, and went in with a sort of stamping motion. O'Shea booked seconds later for breathing

Im just basing it on a quick read of the Oatcake, lots of Stoke fans calling for Pulis' head citing 90million being spent, on a lot of average, aging players with not a lot to show for it.

When you think about it, Crouch for 12million, Jones for 8million, Palacios for 6-8million, Whitehead and Collins for a combined 7.5million. Cameron Jerome 4 million. It adds up quickly.

Dave f***ing Kitson for 5.5 million ! That sums up Pulis' transfer strategy pretty well.

They weren't complaining when they signed Crouch and Palacios though were they?

Nor were they complaining when they signed Jones. They thought they'd got a bargain and didn't believe us when we said he wasn't as good as people think.

They were in the FA cup final only last season, they're in Europe. They have short memories. But then again, they are a bunch of Johnny come lately's. Stoke never had a great following.

very good post

I think Charlie Nicholas was spot on by saying hes changed the philosophy too much by bringing in bigger names. He seems to get the best out of rag tag rejects but since spent big bucks its all going tits up.

Without Etherington they are terrible.

All said, I do have a fondness for Stoke. SO many ex Safc players having played for them does that. And that they have been in a similar situation to us over the last few years doing rather well. They managed to achieve our goals of a cup run and maybe Europe, so fair play to them.

I also reckon they'll be fine this season, they went on a brilliant run in the Autumn, so this bad spell could be just that, a bad spell.

I do worry about their future finances, they don't seem to bring through a lot of youth players (Bar Shawcross) who seem to have a sell on value. Couple this with a policy of buying older players, and players who lose value seems to be a recipe for disaster, financially.

Shawcross signed from Man U at the age of 21! Worth far more now like, admittedly.
