Only because they seem to think that Crane is the man and if that's the case then they've got to give him a run in the side. To be fair to him it was a horrific match to make you debut and he showed he can turn it both ways, but he obviously needs to learn how to pitch two consecutive balls in the same spot.....

Seems to be a bit of love for TRJ here, I thought Overton had a lot more about him.

We are woefully short on batting so bairstow MUST move up order and if that means sacrificing gloves then so be it. Ali had been very good for us up until this disaster (wasn’t only one) so deserves chance to turn it round. Broad past best but having seen the alternatives he’s still the best we have.
This also gives us great batting depth again.
 
Looks like Stoneman and Vince are going to NZ. The batting casualty could be Ballance for either Livinston or Joe Clark. As i said a few days ago it would be typical if the batting casualty was the blokes who did not even play.
 
I seem to remember in the past when myself and others mentioned Hildreth the defence of the ECB by some on here was that he only scores runs at Taunton. No ends now as he probably is too old and will be better candidates I imagine anyway - think he has recently completed his coaching badges so possibly looking to transition into that profession sooner rather than later - would make a useful batting coach in most county set ups imo.
 
The @englandcricket squad for the NZ Tests is announced at 10pm.

Ah right didn’t realise that was the case with Stokes. I seen him in Durham last week. Still think he should’ve played.
