Newcastle fans fuming at the transfer fees being asked by the selling clubs whilst signing at the top of their voices so the whole world can hear "we're the richest club in the world"
Isn't it ironic don't ya think 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Once they coughed up 25 million for Chris Wood they put their marker down on transfer fees....won't be long before the best fans in the world turn on Eddie Howe just a matter of time

I would not argue much of this. Trippier and Pope perhaps not, due to age and no really sell-on potential.
Human nature is to get excited. Expectation would have been greater than reality at most clubs. Yes there were those idiots expecting / appearing to actually expect signings of M'Bappe levels. A modicum of common sense is all that is needed to temper such thought. In 10 years time, after sustained success, then possibly.

Not really sure what point you are trying to make here?
Possibly pointing out that MA paid his transfer fees in full up front, but "that richest club in the werld" seemingly can't/won't. Wonder why.
A series of unfortunate events…

Very astute by Eddie pulling out of that Harrison deal. 35m is ridiculous money. You can have all the money in the world but it doesn’t mean you throw good money after bad in the case of wood.

Desperation in January forced that upon Eddie but he clearly has no intention of letting that happen again and no need to in the summer transfer window.

Not letting clubs hold you to ransom will show others that you can’t add an nufc tax onto transfers. Very sensible management imo

On the other hand your lot are only saying that because the deal is dead in the water.

If you had signed him for that money it'd all be "richest club in the world" and "great buy at that price for a lad with so much potential".

NUFC value ASM at £40m yet he scores less goals than Harrison who you claim isn’t worth it. I’d rather have Harrison than ASM.

Translated means - mags have nowhere near the funds available that they believed they would
In their minds it was money no object to sign world class superstars and compete at the very top end of the game
Instead they get excited by links to players that they haven’t heard of before the rumours and that none of the top sides would be remotely interested in
Every signing so far is at the same level as under Ashley

Very amusing to watch the penny drop and then the frustration set in - as it stands they are no better than last season.

Massively defensive of the team as it is now. Not one of the fuckers will criticise the Murderers & they all think every player they have is a class above. Could this turn into another McClaren season?
Going by the quality of players Mandy, Mehrdad and Mo have brought in, mid-table mediocrity is a certainty

Personally still think 1 of 2 things will happen this season. They will go down or Howe will be gone before Christmas. While, they can scream project and long term all they want. They have set a marker for paying over inflated fees on average players. Not one of their signings screams ambition to me, even the Bruno deal doesn’t look like a good deal yet, as he’s had what? 12 games and that’s nothing to judge a player on. Look at Cisse, world beater for half a season…yeah, Trippier, while he was at a big club and has played for England his career has been unremarkable at best and he’s probably their big name signing.
