I’m no Luke Edwards sympathiser but, he has and does take a lot of shit from Mags when essentially his only fault has been to be more honest than other Mag journos.

No, no, no, they want a team that tries and investment in the area.
The “investment in the area” is transpiring to be the Reuben brothers buying a load of city centre property to sit on and milk for rent just as the Dubai lads do in London

Prosperous for the local community? ❌

Incredibly naive for anyone to think otherwise imo

You're wrong mate totally wrong

Non of the mags on football forums and social media signed the 110,000 petition

Before the takeover went through when it was all about the investment in the region and all they want is a team that tried as that's the angle they were all pushing, non of the mags after the takeover went through gloated to every Sunderland fan that they were going to sign the best players in the world, as they were the richest club in the world non of them said that not one

Non of this ever happened
and non of them wore tea towels on their stupid heads or took a toy camel to a match nope it was all makem special effects

How is it stagnant when you had just come of the back of a few good seasons in mid 2000's so therefore had a good commercial presence so could command higher deals and obviously sold more clobber? NUFC finished 13th in last season before Ashley then 12th and then got relegated, finished 5th in 1 season and did nowt the rest of the time.

Of course there wasn't a big 6 but Man City started spending big and grew in time with their investment and won things and became a global giant. Spurs started churning out top positions even pushing Chelsea for the title in 2016/17 as shown below. You'd expect Spurs to increase their commercial revenue massively on the back of years of being in the limelight, assisted by the global growth of the PL at the same time.

How can it be such a negative when in 2018 NUFC were still within a few million of West Ham & Everton and still ahead of Leicester even after they'd won the league and had a season the Champions League? What amount were you expecting it to be given the previous seasons performances and placings?

Exactly how many people do you think outside of Newcastle over that decade would have taken an interest in the PL and started to follow NUFC instead of Spurs or possibly other teams up challenging for Europe? NUFC have reverted back to type after all the big spending caught up with them and it cost them as a global brand. That's why I hoyed the Google and other crap up to show NUFC as a global presence aren't as big as some mags may think. It's not in any way an exact indicator but gives an idea. Though to be fair, they were still up there financially in relation to other clubs who've been in the limelight a little more up to 2018.

That's it from me as I know that comparing NUFC to Spurs is like comparing apples to oranges, enjoy your weekend ;)
Stagnant in the financial sense. No activity, no investment, no deals, no graft put into the commercial side basically. He was happy to scrape survival spending the bare minimum to survive while having free advertising for Sports Direct. Compare and contrast the revenue of SD and NUFC over the time Big Mike had his greasy mits on the club. I'm sure as shit SD couldn't be described as stagnant. It grew, great news for MA, not so great for Newcastle.

If we'd not have been capable of the same growth as Spurs, surely we'd be capable of more than £500k in 14 years during a commercial boom? Doesn't even cover inflation.

Stuff like the Puma kit deal beggars belief. We signed a deal in the championship and went on to renegotiate it once it expired for the same price when we were in the premier league. What went on there? We're worth more as a premier league club than as a championship club, Shirley?

I dunno. Seems pretty obvious to me Ashley was out of his depth and out for himself. A bad combo for the owner of a football club. We were lucky as fuck to get back into the premier league at the first time of asking, not once but twice! And again we were lucky that we only went down twice in his tenure. Fuck knows how Bruce didn't get us relegated, genuinely baffling considering the "football" we were playing. Wouldn't wish Ashley on my worst enemy, although I'd be interested to see what happens at his next club.

Speaking of Bruce, I know your lot will send him my regards next season. That's if he's still robbing a living when you play them of course

They’ve got an in house lawyer appointed to go with the guy from the MLS they appointed the other day.

Mags on Twitter saying they’re very pleased.

Maybe it is a good thing for them. But a couple of lawyers taking their seats at the moment Staveley executes a disappearing act and the transfer fund seems to have run dry mightn’t necessarily be a positive development imo.

Are they there to help turn them into a super club?

Or to soak up the abuse and steer the club towards a sale while Staveley and her husband hide in Dubai or somewhere?

out for himself.
like the vast majority of football club owners. Do you really think that PiF bought this club for the benefit of the City of Newcastle? Do you think Staveley suddenly fell in love with the club, or that her husband genuinely thinks you'll be winning the league in 5 years?

They're in it for themselves. No different to Ashley. And when it's no longer suiting their purpose.... they'll be off.

Darlington no longer has a team. Thanks to George Reynolds. A man who paraded around the pitch in a scarf, talked of the premier league.... and built a stadium.

But yeah. Ashley was a real twat wasn't he

Staveley’s as see through as my plastic freezer trays.

Prancing around the pitch as a chairperson of a football club rarely works out well.

KLD goes to most safc games: womens, youths and first team but keeps himself to himself. That’s what you want.

He wrote a letter to season ticket holders when he came in and puts the odd message up on instagram or whatever it is.

But prancing round the pitch with a freshly made black and white scarf that’s never been on an away trip and had beer spilled on it. Not for me pet.

Her fella looks sinister as fuck as well. Then there’s those Reuben tory rich men anarl. Fuckin hell.
