Now that we’re rich...

Made up for you lads however the Dell boy himself is only part of a consortium - i.e a group looking to make money.

I doubt this deal will be the man himself looking for a plaything (FFP stops that anyway). Hopefully they are smart footballing people who have a plan to get you lads back in the Prem!

We're not rich yet. It isn't done until it's done.
Even when it is done we won’t be rich, one of our minority shareholders will be. People expecting us to be throwing money all over. It’s an investment firm looking to make money not spend it. They’ll obviously have to invest to get us to the prem but it’s not a billionaire looking for a plaything like mansour.

The key word that not a lot of people are picking up on is sustainable. Don't expect a £50m January transfer spending spree and we don't really need it. Where we need investment at the moment is in our scouting system and to cover the running cost shortfall.

This. There might be a a million or two in January if we are off the pace but still in the frame but that would be about it,they would probably look for a high profile manager in the summer if Ross fails again.
This.
How stupid did the Mags look when their Awab man turned into a shambles.
We will have plenty of time to celebrate once/ if this happens.
The Arab fella never had the dosh, these Americans will have £50 million you would think.

People really need to manage their expectations better.

Exactly. Say it was Stan Kronke who was interested...we'd all be getting mega excited looking at his personal wealth when he hadn't put a penny of his own money into Arsenal. There's a very good reason very rich men are very rich. Short's time here was much criticised but what he did was actually an aberration among those types. The pair who owned QPR included the richest man in the UK at the time and they just about bancrupted the club.

Good post. It’s an investment firm who’ll be looking to make money not spend, spend, spend. It’s not some eccentric billionaire who fancies a hobby like mansour. Not saying it’s bad news, obviously to make money we need to be in the prem and we’ll need to spend to get there, but people going way OTT. People welling up and getting a lump in their throat, raising a glass to the dead etc...

How long have you supported Sunderland. If something can go wrong it normally does

This is it - we won't be the next 'Man City' - not even close. If it happens, the aim will be for minimum investment for maximum return - which will probably coincide for a push for the Prem?

51 years,a takeover although welcome means little at our level,it's on the field where it matters, investment becomes more important IF we get up,the performances so far show this team would of struggled badly in the championship,£80 million needed just to have a chance of mid table

I'm at graft, in the site canteen for some scran....and i'm not going back up that bloody scaffold 'til Michael Dell walks thru the SOL doors..
