November Challenge - Abstract - Discussion thread

"Abstract photography can produce very dramatic images. It relies on our more primal sense of form, color, and curves than it does on detail. The problem is that most photographers tend to think in terms of detail when evaluating photographic opportunities. However, it takes a different way of looking at our world to perceive the abstract photography opportunities that surround us."

So the theme for November is: Abstract

Shots must be taken between now and the end of November

Happy shooting

I think it is pretty tough theme - easy to do something but hard to do something good.

I'm looking forward to this theme. It's going to be tough though. I suspect we may end up with quite a bit of macro rather than abstract.

Shitty theme for me as I never actually go out and take photos for the comp, just sift through what I've already taken that month and try and find something that fits the theme.

Can't imagine I'll have much opportunity to do too much in the way of abstract pics with a gig, an engagment do and a wedding this month.

Hopefully I can get an opportunity else it might end up having to be an iPhone snap which wouldn't be ideal

Good theme this month and with it being "abstract", could literally be anything!

I have something in mind that I want to do but need to go on the lookout for the right one first...

Suits me! Got one already, but hopefully will find some more through the month.

My camera is wearing out though :-(

Like that's a bad thing. Love it when some of mine break, means I get to buy a new one without MrsExile giving me shit

But I'm travelling and I really need to make it last! And it's new this year and shouldn't be at wear out stage even though it's getting bashed currently.

Architect - like.

But can you take out the vignetting, soft corners, flare and straighten it up a bit and bung it in again? ;)

I could, but I'm not at work and don't have any photo editing software on this heap of shite laptop.
