The Domes some place.Have to say we once met some wonderful folk from Alloa when we were Xmas shopping in Edinburgh a few years ago. They( 2 couples) insisted we drank with them and they took us to The Dome bedecked in all its glory.
What a day and night we had. They could drink for England !
It was getting late and I was wondering how they would get home. They told us the last train was just after midnight and would be the most entertaining part of their day out !![]()
Indeed u areHi there GS, thanks for the update. There should be two competitions, one for the professionals and one for the amateurs. To be fair, I'd like to see the professional be sauteed by my spuds (or your lemon curd of course). PS I see you've been through the mill a bit recently so I hope all is as well as it can be.
Thanks VH, hope all is well in SR3.
Good evening @Rip Van Fish not only am I second in the table, I am sandwiched between two lovely lasses. Lucky me(not so lucky for them!)
It did indeedThank you Mr Wobble, I won't deny I was sending emails at 3am this morning as I was struggling to sleep.
He's a tough old bird rip but he's 87, I just wish we could see him.
Faired up nicely later.
They've put him on oxygen and are giving him antibiotics so I'm telling myself at least it's been caught early.Thank you for your best wishes.
Thank you lovely. Take care of yourself.
Thanks Becs, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
Thank you! I'm telling myself he's tough and they've caught it early but during the night the doubts come and then I can't sleep. I'll get through it, no other choice.
Oh yesssssssss some good news today.![]()

It's never easy when a loved one is ill. There's a time for everything, but we don't get to set the agenda. If it's not your father in law's time, he'll pull through. I wish him all the best, come what may.Thank you Mr Wobble, I won't deny I was sending emails at 3am this morning as I was struggling to sleep.

You're more than welcome, Glass, la. Any time. Life and death are two sides of the same coin. We can't have one without the other. We (in the West) often seem to find it difficult to talk about & accept death. That's not always the case in other cultures. It's a point to ponder, maybe. Perhaps another day. Besides, it might not be your father in law's time. Who knows? Again, I wish him (and all of you) all the best & above all else, peace.Thank you.

On reflection I think the main thing for me is that we can't see him. I don't know if he understands we haven't abandoned him and I don't want him to die amongst strangers. As you say death is inevitable if not now then at some later date but it's the way he could die that keeps we awake. I can't do anything about it, I know that, but it troubles me.
Thank you for your support and maybe I'll find peace sometime.
I fully understand. Try, if you can, to accept things the way they are. It's easier said than done, but if you are able to move closer to acceptance you might also find you move closer to peace.
