Not Sunderland born but follow the lads.

Born in Glasgow and supported Rangers as a boy. Jim Baxter, my hero at Rangers, moved south to Sunderland and my parents moved south around the same time but to the Isle of Wight. So I came along to Sunderland with Jim really. Got no ties to the north east otherwise so I'm just a long term glory hunter really. When does the glory start by the way?
Tonight.

Technically I don't count as I was born in Consett (although that isn't Sunderland born if we are being super-specific).

My family moved to Dundee when I was 18 months old and becoming a Sunderland supporter was sort of my dad's influence but he let me come to that conclusion myself. When I first got into football I was a glory hunting Rangers fan, but I always knew my dad was Sunderland. When we got promoted to the Premiership in 1996 (I was 12), I asked if we could go to a game just to see top flight English football live. Derby County on Boxing Day 1996 was the start of it and I've never looked back. I hate everything about both sides of the Old Firm these days.

Coventry born but irish mam and Dad was from Quaking houses. His dad moved here for work in the thirties. He played alongside Horatio Carter for Stanley Forge and was a very good footballer, good enough to have a few clubs after him but not Sunderland and he only wanted to play for the lads. Never any doubt/ choice in the matter. I've tried to give my boy free range, his other grandad is a Cov fan and his uncle ( by Marriage) is a Mag - they've tried to convince him to support them but he's having none of it and has been up for his first game against Arsenal this season. The die is cast, poor bugger.

Born and bread in Durham.... For some unknown reason my mother got me a sol brick with my name and (Wakefield) on it.

Born in Corby, northants. My dad came down from Scotland when he was young, his hero was Jim baxter and we had a lot of scots playing for us at the time so when he moved down here he started following Sunderland. Has done ever since so I was born into it really. Plus my mums father was from the north east and used to watch the lads.

Born and bred in Coventry of all places. Mam was from Sunderland dad was from Sunniside. Never spent longer than two weeks in Sunderland when we used to visit my grandparents each summer.
Strangely feel more at home when ever I'm in Sunderland than I ever do in Coventry.
Well I was born in South Shields and moved down to the Rugby area now, still got my season ticket but not going tonight, will be watching in a bar as I am at the University Hospital at Coventry today.

Born in stoke (unfortunately) parents from durham. Old man moved down stoke for the pits. Immediate family all live down here now. All family sunderland fans. Supported the lads since my dad took me and my 2 brothers roker park as bairns.
Get to about half home and away games a season.
Can never get accused of being a glory hunter.

I used to work in Corby and lived in Market Harborough. I knew one other Sunderland fan in Harborough.

How many other SMB members not born in the North East but still follow Sunderland?....

I moved up here in the early 90s from Yorkshire. Sat in the away end for many a game as initially couldnt stand the club. Gradually started to go to games with my mates at work, my own club went bankrupt and Sunderland got under my skin.

Love the bones of the place now.

All the family from Shields, born and raised in Essex.
Follow as many away games in the South and games via stream that I can.

Was on a train to Kent on Saturday due to work listening to the match and going mental. People must have thought I needed sectioning...
