Born in Morecambe, moved to Crook when I was 5 (1976), first match at 11 (82), used to go every match on supporters bus from Willington at 14.

My whole family are from ryhope.(it's a big family)apart from me I was born in London. When my mam moved back up to Sunderland I joined her and there the love began with this club and area. I now live in Norfolk.

Oh and I'll be there tomorrow 410mile round trip wouldn't miss it for owt.

Ha ha, most people where I grew up were Hull and Leeds fans so could have been much worse....Scarborough was the retirement/reject home for Sunderland players........Steven Brodie, John Kay, Chris Tate, Paul Heckingbottom, Garry Bennet, Steven Capper; we had loads of em....At one point in a play off season we had 6 former Sunderland players in our first team I think.

Nearly as many as Stoke then.

Born in Consett, currently live in Nuneaton. ( )

Good news is I've got the Mrs hooked and she's only been to Sunderland about three times in her life.

How many other SMB members not born in the North East but still follow Sunderland?....

I moved up here in the early 90s from Yorkshire. Sat in the away end for many a game as initially couldnt stand the club. Gradually started to go to games with my mates at work, my own club went bankrupt and Sunderland got under my skin.

Love the bones of the place now.
Does Easington co Durham count
Well little Thorpe to be precise ;)
Now residing in park end smoggy Yorkshire

Born in Accrington, left at 17 to go to University, lived in a few places and landed in Sunderland at the age of 27 in 1990.

Used to laugh when my mates said we will have you supporting Sunderland one day. Been in the away end a few times at Roker Park and the SoL but the love for the Lads grew and have had a season ticket for 25 years and attended countless away games since.
