What a great trip that must have been! !:)

What is the white thing like an iceberg out of water, is it some kind of anthill or something?

They are fascinating things. The ones I saw were more like this.

One night, after a really heavy thunderstorm, there were literally tens of thousands of them swarming around any light going (which in the bush meant even just a camp fire or a candle), and the ground was just heaving with them as their wings fell off and they did whatever it is that swarming termites do. It was an absolutely fascinating sight, but try as we might, we couldn't really capture it properly on camera.

That was it, just that one night - really bizarre. The next morning, the baboons came along and had a feast on all the grubs coming out of the ground late to the party.

I'd be happy with them, some good pics.

Must get myself down to Knowsley Safari Park some day!

 Cheers Boss Man

The reality is we'd sometimes be bumping around in the Land Rover for hours on end, seeing nowt but bush, bush and more bush then suddenly out pops a giraffe, or a wee mongoose.

there's one not far from Alicante from what I remember

Horrible place it was mind, the animals had nee chance of a decent life

I was thinking more Africa mind ;)

There is one here you're right, it's in Elche which is our rival city, I've never been mind. To the safari not the place.
