Not a bad interview.

Its a good appointment man. He`s hungry, he isnt another dosser like mcclaren or pardew off the self entitled arsehole merrygoround. He comes across well, he`s young and ambitious. The main downsides people seem to have is that he is called Simon Grayson.

Good post - I'm giving him full backing. Was refreshing hearing that interview- mind it was magnified x 1000 in a positive way, considering we been suffering moyes doom laden ramblings for last 9 month.

He said something along the lines of " players will want to come here, not for the money but to get their careers back on track ".
That's interesting.

That would mean he has done an appalling job and we will be struggling.. Is this what you want as a supporter? not a trick question.. Honest answer?....
Sit in your seat at the SOL and after half a dozen home games tell me you are happy with the performances never mind the results I came here when Moyes was appointed and said he would get us relegated Grayson is just your run of the mill championship manager is that what you want because under him we will never get promoted more chance of relegation.

We are not a premiership club anymore. Have half a squad and no money. He is the only option we have. We call the mags disolutional. Some people on this board need to look in the mirror

Our only option out of every manager in the world? Amazing.

I said I'd be happy as long as he was enthusiastic motivated and wanted the job, he's certainly making the right noises.

He's talking about getting players well-motivated, working hard and winning games ! More positivity in one interview than the whole season of abject surrender interviews under the miserable shit Moyes.

Came across canny, he'll do for me.

So you're not gonna give the bloke a chance then?

We have to give him a chance mate.. I like you didnt rate Moyes from day one.. But Moyes was finished and it was obvious.. SG at least has a bit of hunger Im prepared to give him a chance..

I hope he is sacked before xmas

I hope he wins manager of the month for each of the first 4 months, we sell up to a rich investor who gives him 100m to help prepare for the enivitable return to the premiership. After January we kick on and smash the 100 point mark.
Now that is hope.

When he said he was from North Yorkshire I was expecting him to add " We'll finish above the smelly mutants ".
He is obviously more adept at interviews than Benitez that much is clear.

It's got to be pretty difficult to give a bad first interview to be fair. Moyes had us salivating at first

Did he?
David Moyes said: “I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity.

“I have taken over a big British club with a great support and I’m looking forward to working in the Premier League again.

“I look forward to continuing the good work done by Sam”.

I much prefer:
"Im delighted to come to Sunderland, a club with such wonderful history and tradition, and I’m excited by the opportunity to manage this club and I want to bring the good times back.

“Sunderland are so fortunate to have such tremendous support and I want to give these fans a team they can be proud of.”

“I want a group of players full of desire, team spirt and a never-say-die attitude - that’s the very least that we should expect from a Sunderland player."
