Not a bad interview.

Definitely needs to keep a close eye on those like, they could make or break him.

Agree but if he's good enough to manage at a higher level it's something he has to deal with successfully. Needs to get the most influential ones onside quick.

He deserves a chance. But he's got very little going for him. No team, a bunch of self interested journeymen, some mediocre kiddies and no budget to speak of.
The dice is loaded from the start. Good luck to him.
We've gone from German consortium to Barnstoneworth in the space of a few days. There'll be some hefty bills for renewed crockery, clocks and silverware come Christmas time.

I like him. Seems to want to create what we have been severely lacking. He will get my full support.

So he obviously isn't a lot of people's first choice of manager. Frankly we have had two of mine in the past and they failed so I don't know who mine is now.
What I do know is that the bloke has done relatively well at numerous previous clubs. He knows the league. Our squad is depleted, but that gives him close to a blank canvas.
I also know that as our manager I will look to see him succeed rather than fail so I can rant on here about Shorts mistakes.
Moyes, MON and BSA would all have been in my top choices. Whilst two were limited successes initially ultimately they all failed. My dad was desperate for McMenemy, he woke me up to dance about he was so pleased we appointed him- only Clough could have been better as far as he was concerned. Truth is the best managers we've had by some distance in my time have been unheralded, Durban, Smith and whilst he wasn't as " unknown" Reid.
I reckon Grayson will surprise people and do well with us.

Barring the early nineties, the only managers I didn't want were Wilkinson/Cotterill. I was only ten when McMenemy was appointed so was still starry eyed about everything to do with football. I bet this place would've moaned like buggery if Eddie Howe or Dyche had been appointed in 2012 when they took over their current clubs. Grayson might be the right fit. He certainly won't look down his nose at us, like certain other managers in our recent past.

Pretty much the same although I'd add PDC to that list. Definitely didn't want him.

He seems up for it and importantly imo really wanted the job if we are to believe the timing of things given to us by the club (ie.takeover breaking down and asking preston permission to speak with him)
He seemed to jump at the oppitunity and rightly so
Could work this
