Not a bad interview.

About the only decent interview moyes gave.
After that it was all downhill, blaming everyone but himself and with a delivery that had all the allure of a summer holiday in Rochdale.

I always think back to the vid of the jovial Moyes doing shooting practice n ripping the piss out of all our players.
Remember it?
Reckon he must have had a crackpipe for breakfast.

Why? coz he's not bending over backwards to accept a shite appointment? like most you sheep... you all just keep towing the clubs party line (UBER fans) and accept any shit they serve you...
Its anything but accepting a shite appointment, get your head out of his arse. Grayson isn't my cup of tea but to hope he fails, that's the embarrassing bit not the "anyone but Moyes" phrase that you've crow barred in there. But since you mention it, yes Grayson before Moyes

Its a good appointment man. He`s hungry, he isnt another dosser like mcclaren or pardew off the self entitled arsehole merrygoround. He comes across well, he`s young and ambitious. The main downsides people seem to have is that he is called Simon Grayson.

This^I liked moyes first interview and also liked this one as well but completely different feel imo. From the beginning moyes had a very distinct demenour that the club was lucky to have him w/ a puffed chest and he would be a savior and a "listen to me" type attitude and he'll get Sunderland out of the mess.... clearly a stepping stone to get career back on track and he didn't. Grayson seems to view this much more of an opportunity w/ a more humble understanding of what it's going to take.

So he obviously isn't a lot of people's first choice of manager. Frankly we have had two of mine in the past and they failed so I don't know who mine is now.
What I do know is that the bloke has done relatively well at numerous previous clubs. He knows the league. Our squad is depleted, but that gives him close to a blank canvas.
I also know that as our manager I will look to see him succeed rather than fail so I can rant on here about Shorts mistakes.

you have to cut your cloth accordingly, hopefully some will cotton onto this soon enough...

agreed!

I hope he is our Dyche

You know what I was thinking this late last night and was afraid to post in case of being shot down / judged a happy clapper

I am positive and can't wait to get wheeling and dealing! As I posted on another thread, it got massively boring trying to keep up with the Jones's

Was not initially impressed with the appointment. But he came across quite well. Let's see a young, passionate, hardworking side and let's have some fun this season. For knows we need it!!!!

Welcome and good luck Simon.

Get us f***ing at it again, and get some nasty sods playing for us who never hide, we will tear up the fkng league.

There's no guarantee with any manager.

We've tried the experience of the MON, Dick & Moyes route with their better days behind them. Maybe Big Sam would have gone that way with what's happened this summer.

We've tried The ex premier league player route in Keane, Poyet, Di Canio.

This is the closest we've come to a Bruce type manager, and I much prefer Grayson's "character".

All we can do is get behind him and the team from the off, and see where this new journey takes us. The 'new' Denis Smith? I'm looking forward to it

I'm pleased the ownership and lack of management is sorted.

Grayson wouldn't have been my first choice but hopefully with a bit of backing (£10 - 15M) he'll get us in at least the play offs.

It's a new dawn after a dreadful season under dog shit Dave.

Well thought of by players and other managers, seems a hard working genuine bloke. Hope he does well and shows up all the fannies posting on threads like these. Talk about football going mad.

I thought it had a Dennis Smith feel to it, biggest job he's had, chance to show what he can do etc

If he fails, obviously the club does, Shirley no one wants that?

As previously said, he needs to get some rough arsed nutters in who ( will become to) love the club, fans & area.

Give us some f***ing pride lad, through graft, that's all we ask

Coincidentally i was speaking to Pickfords brother last night after the appointment and he said Jordan loved him, his favorite manager to date. He said he will play really nice football and hes a top, top bloke aswell.

Hopefully he does the same with us.

He deserves a chance. But he's got very little going for him. No team, a bunch of self interested journeymen, some mediocre kiddies and no budget to speak of.
The dice is loaded from the start. Good luck to him.
