Good luck to Bali I was sad to see him go, good young player and a canny lad.
Yep...the sort we should have been desperate to keep a hold of and develop. Not good enough to displace the likes of Mclaughlan, Dobson etc in league one, but certainly good enough for a championship promotion push at Norwich!

I'd rather your sporting director.

I've got a feeling he'll go to Germany for his next project, he's fanatical about German football and goes out there all the time, takes us out there for every pre-season, and has hired German managers at Huddersfield and Norwich.

There are positions to fill at red bull who have lost some influential folk in the last 6 months.

Think he should stay with your lot. Obviously been given the freedom and support to build for the long term and if you can stay up in the prem he'll have massive options to continue the build.

Will spare you all the 'always had a soft spot for Sunderland' nonsense and I know it always looks a bit weird when fans of other teams sign up to a forum!

But really curious about Bali Mumba and what his situation was at Sunderland?

I vaguely remembering us signing him for a few hundred grand, and a few of our fans said he looked decent at right back in pre-season.

All of a sudden he's come on for the last 25 minutes yesterday against Swansea, who are a bloody good team at the minute, and basically torn them to shreds down the left side, turned them inside out and our plan B for that game when we dominated possession but were struggling to break Swansea down was basically just give it to Mumba!

Started the move from which we scored the only goal of the game.

I don't want to get too excited, and definitely not here to antagonise, but I can honestly say that this was the most impressive debut I've seen from a kid at Norwich in 35 years of following and I've seen Craig Bellamy, James Maddison, Max Aarons, Danny Mills, Todd Cantwell etc... all come into the side over the years.

Our scouting system has obviously identified him as a potential gem, but was he highly thought of at Sunderland? Looks like he's gone from playing for North Shields to looking like he simply has to start for us against Middlesbrough!
To sum it up we are in league 1, we have no money and any player worth selling goes, and all at a knock down price. It’s shot, but I wish the lad well. For what it’s worth he only got the odd chance here, but I think you could see the potential in him from a mile off. Hopefully there’s a cóselo on clause.

We ain’t a happy bunch here, any decent player is getting flogged for peanuts because we have absolute f***ing wankers running the club from top to bottom.
Good luck to Bali and Norwich but we have bigger problems then telling stories of why our heart is being shit on by cnnnuts
This^

It does look like a wind up mind
“I am still none the wiser why this is really bad timing, I apologise if I've committed a huge faux-pas (I did have a wait to post while awaiting admin approval), will just log off and jog on”

Then keeps on asking about it

Either a mag or some kind of energy vampire feeding off our misery

Thought throwing in a reference to a line in a Iwan Roberts book would have been enough to show that I'm a Norwich fan! Can't imagine it made any national bestselling lists haha

I did actually log off but then people were asking me questions.

When it transpired that the "bad timing" was just Sunderland fans living in eternal abject misery and not because a club legend had just died of coronavirus or something, I didn't consider apologising and logging off to have been as pertinent or necessary.

You lot might be sh*t but at least you didn't have your fans walking around advertising payday loan companies or play in the zero-hour contract arena, so you've always got that. Having a decent team not worth that compromise, and on that basis I must strongly object to any insinuation that I'm a Newcastle fan. I'd take watching a load of cloggers in League One over being the play thing of a greasy spiv, and I was doing just that in 2009.

I'm not old enough to understand what on earth the point in the Friendly Cup is, being a baby when we beat you at Wembley (was it just because you didn't kick our heads in after the game? Sign of the times in 1985?) but I do wish your team well for as long as they are in the same league as the scum.

In a nut shell, our scum bag owner is raping the club and selling off all of our good young players for peanuts to fund his vanity project of owning a club a cant afford.

Probably selt a worse left back to the gravy swillers up the road.

Jamal Lewis over rated and was kept out of our side for a period last season by our back up right back who we signed for £750k (playing at left back). He is a superb athlete, but not very good at defending.

Mugged them for him I think, we'll see.

I've seen Jacob Murphy is suddenly doing alright for them, funny that he's turning it on when he's 7 months away from being out of contract. Pretty common knowledge that soon after joining them he rang Stuart Webber crying and begging to come back to Norwich, and we tried to sign him on loan in the summer.

I would consider it a strong possibility that we'll be getting him back for £0 in the summer after selling him for £10m.

Highly thought of by the fans but not by the management. He was not given enough first team chances despite looking good on the occasions he played. He then refused to sign a new contract so we sent him out on loan till his contract was up. Clearly the fans fault though for realising his potential and creating all the hype towards him.

Contract wasn't up until summer 2021 by the looks of it.

he's taking the piss man.

How the fuck am I supposed to know about North Shields and South Shields, only been to Newcastle once for a stag party. Went fishing in Hartlepool once. Was impressed with the metro you have up there in the North East and the price of a pint made me feel like I'd gone back in a time machine, got very fed up with all the spice heads begging change and ciggies and the general smell of urine which seemed to be all over Newcastle.

You know loads about non-league clubs in East Anglia then do you?

Feel a bit sorry for you all really.... we signed Sam McCallum for £1.2m rising to £3m from Coventry after he played 25 games in League One for them, and he has been deemed not ready by Farke and sent back out on loan to Coventry.

So Farke must really rate Bali Mumba, who I think we all thought at that price would just go straight back out on loan, but instead been put straight into the first team squad!

Does look like you have people at the club who don't understand / appreciate the value of young talent, it is just a big surprise to us as we thought perhaps McCallum at that price would be brought into the fold rather than Mumba.

Hopefully you've got a sell on percentage though hey? York City got a few million of the Ben Godfrey fee, and Coventry got a couple of million out of the James Maddison fee.

With a bit of luck you'll have more competent people in charge by the time any sell on clauses pay dividends.
Yes ,we will blow it all on another donkey like Grigg.
