I never understood the handling of this kid.
Was trusted to play in a midfield 2 as a 16 year old in our first 2 games in League 1 and did very well especially in the Charlton game.
We virtually never saw him again and the 2nd season he’s in the 23’s and nowhere near the 1st team, and ends up on loan to South Shields then he’s sold for coppers, it’s simply baffling.
What were they f***ing doing?

Made his debut at 16 (came on as captain) at the same time as Donald took over. Donald said he was someone we could build the team around for years to come.

Started the next season, and more than held his own. Was then put into the under 23s and barely featured for the 1st team other than the checkatrade or whatever it is.

Jurassic Parkinson has no intention of playing youngsters, and the chubby chancer Donald saw the £300k fee and his eyes lit up. Disgrace what they’ve done to our club, the damage will last for years. Mumba joined highly rated youngsters like Greenwood, Stephenson, Hugill, Pye and of course Maja in leaving us for pennies
Jurassic Parkinson hahahaha Best name yet

So that's what buildup play with attacking fullbacks looks like. I'd almost forgotten watching us
Welcome to the ruins of one of the North’s, and English football’s most successful historic teams.

Come and shift through the rubble, you can take what you please.
Preferably Griggs, Parkinson, Donald and another Rodwell.

How come we always have a Rodwell at the club and he's always an utterly useless pos?

Brilliant.

Guys,

I am still none the wiser why this is really bad timing, I apologise if I've committed a huge faux-pas (I did have a wait to post while awaiting admin approval), will just log off and jog on (feel a bit of a saddo for being on another clubs forum as it is).

Good luck whenever you play the Suffolk scum.

Cheers.

Guys 🤮

Now you’ve made us feel even shitter about our board can we have Farke as way of an apology ?

Well his former first team coach Christian Fluthmann applied for the Barnsley job and didn't get it, he'll know what Farkeball is all about if you want to jump on the German coach craze!

Craig Bellamy is a twat,

Iwan Roberts (Norwich legend) published his memoirs and told a story about how Craig Bellamy was so irritating as a teenager when breaking through that him and Malky Mackay locked Bellamy in the coach toilet for 4 hours on the way to an away game.

I believe the club moved him to Norfolk as a 14 year old rather than the usual 16 (he came through at an old satellite academy of ours in Bristol) because he was so out of control that they thought he'd end up on heroin or locked up if they didn't. Allegedly soon after moving to Norfolk be took a Land Rover for a joy ride and the police on a long chase.

But he was a quality player, hard to refute that one even if you are a Sunderland fan.

Will spare you all the 'always had a soft spot for Sunderland' nonsense and I know it always looks a bit weird when fans of other teams sign up to a forum!

But really curious about Bali Mumba and what his situation was at Sunderland?

I vaguely remembering us signing him for a few hundred grand, and a few of our fans said he looked decent at right back in pre-season.

All of a sudden he's come on for the last 25 minutes yesterday against Swansea, who are a bloody good team at the minute, and basically torn them to shreds down the left side, turned them inside out and our plan B for that game when we dominated possession but were struggling to break Swansea down was basically just give it to Mumba!

Started the move from which we scored the only goal of the game.

I don't want to get too excited, and definitely not here to antagonise, but I can honestly say that this was the most impressive debut I've seen from a kid at Norwich in 35 years of following and I've seen Craig Bellamy, James Maddison, Max Aarons, Danny Mills, Todd Cantwell etc... all come into the side over the years.

Our scouting system has obviously identified him as a potential gem, but was he highly thought of at Sunderland? Looks like he's gone from playing for North Shields to looking like he simply has to start for us against Middlesbrough!
South shields a much higher level than north shields

It wasn't his debut.

It was pretty much his league debut, he got about 30 seconds against Bristol City as a time wasting sub (We're pretty much a German side remember).

We don't really count that cup game against Luton on first game of the season as we had something silly like 14 players away on International duty but for some strange reason turned down the opportunity to postpone the game (we were within our rights to do so), meaning that we had an XI made up almost entirely of players playing out of position or kids. It was grim.

Loved the look of him when he started for us. Was gutted that we let him go.

Sick of this club right now

Nice quick edit...

The bringing through of talented youngsters is exactly what we crave here, but as has been pointed out we have lost so many and those lost would possibly have had the talent to have got us promoted ironically. We've been that badly run
