Made his debut at 16 (came on as captain) at the same time as Donald took over. Donald said he was someone we could build the team around for years to come.

Started the next season, and more than held his own. Was then put into the under 23s and barely featured for the 1st team other than the checkatrade or whatever it is.

Jurassic Parkinson has no intention of playing youngsters, and the chubby chancer Donald saw the £300k fee and his eyes lit up. Disgrace what they’ve done to our club, the damage will last for years. Mumba joined highly rated youngsters like Greenwood, Stephenson, Hugill, Pye and of course Maja in leaving us for pennies
Jurassic Parkinson. :lol::lol:

Ffs, this is a kick in the balls like....a fair post, but not one we need right now.

Did we put a sell on clause in?

It was obvious to anyone that knew football that this transfer was a f***ing mistake.

Apparently as he only had a year left on his contract and was stalling on negotiations due to limited game time meant all we could get was £350K. We could have held out for more in a tribunal. The arseholes incharge couldn't give a fuck about potential though as they want to sell up as soon as possible and don't care about the future. Take the money and run is their mantra
A mistake for Norwich. The OP doesn’t have a clue and has come on here as a wind up.

Guys,

I am still none the wiser why this is really bad timing, I apologise if I've committed a huge faux-pas (I did have a wait to post while awaiting admin approval), will just log off and jog on (feel a bit of a saddo for being on another clubs forum as it is).

Good luck whenever you play the Suffolk scum.

Cheers.
The bad timing is any time in the past two years really (so unless you’ve been awaiting approval that long it’s a moot point ;) ). That’s the period we’ve been spaffing away our best Academy products and hence our future with little to no resistance and for nothing.

Not sure really, we have a left back and left sided player out injured, but Mumba is actually our back up right back. But if he can play left side and right side then wouldn't surprise me if he did manage more than 10?

No idea really, Farke really good at bringing through youngers... Jamal Lewis came out of nowhere really. Farke came into, liked the look of him and just put him in the team, don't think he'd ever really been identified as one of the better prospects and hadn't been involved with the first team. He never looked back, just stayed in the side and then moved to Newcastle for £15m-£20m.

Ben Godfrey was out on loan to League One as a defensive midfielder, Farke just said "you're a centre back", stuck him in the side, and he just stayed in the side as a centre back. Next thing we know Rio Ferdinand is identifying him as a top class centre back and Everton are paying £25m for him.

So I have no idea what this really means for Mumba, but Farke isn't scared to keep senior pros out of the team for a kid... pretty much what he did with Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons as well, just decided they were good enough and that was that!

The lad's preferred position is actually central midfield. I hope we do have a sell on clause in his contract cos I still think he'll go on to play at a higher level than either of us can offer him, in the long term.

Best of luck with the rest of the season. Unlike your opening gambit, I'm not scared to say that I'm fond of your lot. '85 cup final and our camaraderie lives long in my memory. 😎

Is there a significant reason why this particular day/moment in time is really bad?
1. All days are bad.
2. We're really f***ing angry, mainly because being a Sunderland fan involves being repeatedly kicked in the nads for all eternity.
3. We don't like it when people call us 'guys'
4. You confused North and South Shields. You'll be calling us Geordies next.
5. We never play young players and you did and he was good.
6. We always sell our young players for peanuts. You have repeatedly pointed this out.
7. You suggested we might benefit from a sell on fee. We never negotiate them.

And so on. Also a whiff of bisto.

"Bad timing" would be "anytime in the past five years" for some of our fans, mate. Don't let them get to you and welcome to the board.

We have a fair number of regular posters on here who are fans of other clubs, so don't feel weird about being on "another club's forum".

Started our first couple of games in League one (against sides that were eventually promoted)in centre midfield and held his own. Certainly did enough to warrant a regular place in the first team. He looked quick, mobile and showed good feet and was decent on the ball. We signed Max Power and for some reason Mumba only featured a further 20 minutes in the league that season despite us crying out for someone with legs in midfield. 2nd season and with Honeyman and Cattermole leaving you’d have expected him to kick on and be more involved but he wasn’t seen at all in the league and moved to RB for the under 23’s.
I’ve absolutely no doubt that we’d have been no worse off had he played week in week out and he’d probably have been moved on for a significantly larger fee than 300k.

Feel a bit sorry for you all really.... we signed Sam McCallum for £1.2m rising to £3m from Coventry after he played 25 games in League One for them, and he has been deemed not ready by Farke and sent back out on loan to Coventry.

So Farke must really rate Bali Mumba, who I think we all thought at that price would just go straight back out on loan, but instead been put straight into the first team squad!

Does look like you have people at the club who don't understand / appreciate the value of young talent, it is just a big surprise to us as we thought perhaps McCallum at that price would be brought into the fold rather than Mumba.

Hopefully you've got a sell on percentage though hey? York City got a few million of the Ben Godfrey fee, and Coventry got a couple of million out of the James Maddison fee.

With a bit of luck you'll have more competent people in charge by the time any sell on clauses pay dividends.
Someone mentioned him to me when he was only about 13 said he was destined to be a great player.
If your wondering what went wrong here, then you just have to look at the 3 top young lads we have at the minute that are way better than a lot of our starting 11 yet hardly get on the bench.
Simple fact is Donald is a prick, Parkinson is a cock womble and if any team offers more than £50 then can pick any player they want

Symbolic of the mismanagement of our entire club but particularly our Academy and its prospects and products.

Unfortunately he’s just the tip of the ice berg. I’m sure someone could provide the full breakdown but in the last year or so we’ve lost our best hopes to Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal, Boro, yourselves with little to no resistance. We’re fucked.

We can have no resistance when you are League 1 and Liverpool Man U and Arsenal come knocking.

Not deliberate if so, should perhaps bare in mind that there was a long wait to have my account approved by an admin and I wanted to ask this question as soon as our game finished yesterday - if that changes anything?
On a pure wind up changes nothing

Aye, welcome obviously.

Balu Mumba has a class name, and his man and dad look really cool. I wish them and you well.
