I think they just do it more often as they get away with it time and time again. Even when there’s nobody around them for yards. As long as they grab the ball on the way down they are safe as houses.

Though practice makes perfect.

Therefore surely the best way to stop it, is for harsh punishments after the game when you have seen all angles and 100% sure it was a dive.

Rather than blaming the one guy in the middle ( who granted will occasionally not spot obvious ones as you have proved) having to make spilt second decisions for plenty that are far from obvious until replays seen?
 
If Roberts could just add some end product more often...................... he'd be snapped up by a prem club almost instantly.
Because he's very very good.
