Hope so cos I want to go but may have an option of sitting in the home end if I can't get a ticket amongst our lot. Think I'd probably turn it down though tbh.[DOUBLEPOST=1394473521][/DOUBLEPOST]
The journey is shite by car. You turn off the A1 at Newark thinking you must be nearly there and in reality there's still about 3 hours driving.
It's a 4 hour drive... Well 4 & a half if you stop for a bit! 2 hours to Newark then 2 hours across the A17 & A47.

One of the poorer days out IMO. Always fun going away with SAFC and I will be there, but been a few times to Norwich and always struggled for much atmosphere, and the city is pretty dire!
 You've never been on the Prince of Wales' Road on a Sarada neet, I take it?
My adopted city, mate.

Anyone know how you find out if your application has been successful? I picked collect tickets this time

How far are the pubs from the ground?

Queen of the Icenii wetherspoons is no more than 5 mins away, then Prince of Wales less than 10 (the main drag of bars, absolute shite), then the city centre proper is at the far end of the Prince of Wales road which has some fantastic pubs and bars.

I go to uni in norwich, its an awesome place, plenty of great pubs etc... takes 4 and a half hours for me to get down door to door, so its a canny treck, but its a really nice part of the country and well worth the effort if u make a weekend of it. If you are planning on hitting the town though, the bottom of prince of wales road is really average, but it gets pretty good nearer the top of the hill :)[DOUBLEPOST=1394481578][/DOUBLEPOST]

at a guess i'd say its like a 10-15 minute walk to get to the city centre from the ground

What are you reading mate? There's a chance I've marked some of your work...

All the bars on POW Rd are shite, unless you're a student!

There are plenty of decent pubs in the city. Most popular match day pubs are obviously Queen of Iceni on riverside.. The Coach & Horses on Thorpe Rd just 30 seconds from the train station. It has its own brewery so plenty of decent ales to choose from! There's a few on Yarmouth Rd too as you head out from the city.[DOUBLEPOST=1394486849][/DOUBLEPOST]
Watch out for the 9 (nine) Gatsos on the A17/47. You'll do well to drive that in two hours without a letter from Lincolnshire's finest. :)
Always 2 hours from Newark to Norwich.

1 of my fav away games, great city, good fans, great pubs
This. Have been many times and always a good day/weekend etc. very friendly fans (we all know about the 1985 friendly cup final) and a canny city as well in its own right. The journey is a pisser tbd. four of us going by supporters club coach and I seriously want to take the car (half the cost, stay where I want, set off when I want and come back when I want)

looked at the train option but probably be driving now, think our train price was £16 return
To be fair its easier than it sounds. Have to go backwards from Billericay to Shenfield and then catch a train to Chelmsford to rv with ESB. In order to have some drinking time in Norwich we have to get a train to Colchester and then change for the train to Norwich!

I've applied and popped into the ticket office today to be told to call back tomorrow afternoon if I want to know if I've been successful.
I need to know so I can get her brother to get me a couple of tickets in the home end (he lives in Kings Lynn).
I went to Norwich a few years ago and it was canny, we had a night out in Spalding on the way back.

 That's far too quick for our ticket office.
