Northern trains

Grand Central leaves H/pool at 10:59 and GC home from Sunland at 17:30.
Always loads of seats available and no stops at Horden or Seaham. 👍
Stupidly early for me that. However even for 12 son has to miss his training so might just do it.

Love GC me, used the london route for years. I wish theyd expand n put northern out of fecking business.
If I do horley chorley fancy a coffee n bit craic onboard?

Thought today might give an indication of saturday:

Half ten cancelled n 2 carriages all day. Champion 😂

Id take part in some sort of protest at this disgrace of a company.

2 coaches back on the 7pm - squashed in like sardines, some older blokes that were already on train got off it was that bad.
There was at least 10 in the toilet FFS, had to wait at one stop for someone to use toilet everyone had to get out/off train
Grim.
Was late getting up and was on the 1240, only 2 carriages as well and standing room only from Hartlepool as usual, and no-one could get on at Seaham.
Standard matchday for Northern Rail tho eh
was on both of these trains, Wigan and Scunthorpe lads sat next to me, also a load of lasses got on going to a show at the empire. Why don't GC just put another couple of carriages on?

The Wigan fans bought one ticket and shared it around 20/30 of them. The ticket inspector was not impressed and was going to call the transport police but there won't have been room for them to get on

There is a GC leaving H/pool at 14:02 (arriving at Sunland at 14:31) which might be more suitable for you, but it doesn't give you much time to get from the station and into your seat at the SOL, bearing in mind there'll be the usual queues at the turnstiles.

I usually go straight for a coffee when I get off the train, and then meet my mates in the pub around noon, so let me know what you're doing, if you fancy a cuppa or a pint. 👍

It was too rammed for me to get on at Horden on Saturday. Fcking joke! Had to get a lift from the Mrs instead 🙄.
Ive recently moved down that way and thought the train would be perfect, I get on at Billingham and there's plenty room, but it fills up at Hartlepool, and like you said lots of people at Horden couldn't get on, Seaham the same.
Coming back was a joke, stayed in the pub until 7:00 and got the train back which was rammed.

Ok mate i will. If i was to go that late id just drive.

Reading the horror of northern on here im coming round to the idea of gc both ways.
Id have thought the 7pm northern would have been dead due to the couple of trains prior. Crazy!

The 7pm Northern might be ok, but it could well be chokka if there's only a couple of carriages on, plus there's a rugby world cup game being played on Satda, at Kingston Park (Fiji Vs Italy)

If possible I usually get the 10:59 GC out of H/pool and the 17:30 GC home to H/pool.
