No, it should be a permanent transfer or nothing. We can't go on the way we have been using loans, it means every summer you lose two or three key first team players who then prove difficult to replace, you can't build a team like that. And if he doesn't think enough of us to want to sign permanently despite the fact that he's going to be handsomely paid and play every week, then I don't want him back on loan for a year anyway.

I got slated for saying the exact same the other week.

george caulkin said last week that he had heard we had pretty much given up on signing borini(possibility of a loan) and were looking at other options then 2 days later he has a 2 page spread and interview with congerton, coincidence?.
So Gus has been lying all week then? Ok

some people rather believe a mag reporter than our own manager shocking aint it

Exactly, people just seem to of forgotten what Poyet said on Friday but are choosing to believe a story in the paper that has no quotes attached it at all. Some people on here are mental like. i dont know what more evidence people need to see like:

We have had a bid accepted

Our manager has basically said he wants to come

He is fit yet was not on the bench for Liverpool yesterday

Rodgers never mentioned him when talking about their injured players being close to a return

His squad number here from last season has not been given to anyone else

Now i am no Poirot but i think that evidence is fairly substancial

Poyet's comments around him not wanting to come and could still happen are, imo, aimed at putting more pressure on Congerton to get the deal done. As is his comments around starting to look at different players but then keep going back to Borini as there's still a chance, to me that's his way of saying Congerton's replacements aren't up to scratch.
I still feel it's Poyet's way of keeping the pressure on Congerton and if that's the case then it is about giving Borini what he wants moneywise. He may be a bit reluctant or have reservations about coming but there are no direct quotes he doesn't want to, I just don't think we've offered him the deal he wants for him to give a definite yes.

According to some comments on Twitter Liverpool have agreed a deal for the PSG striker Lavezzi, if true and it comes off it will test the one in one out theory
