If it's him stalling then fuck him off. Sunderland Association Football Club is far grander than a bloke rotting in Liverpool's reserves, who has done nothing of note in the game and he needs to know this.

He's annoyed you hasn't he fatha jack

lets remove the £14m offer and offer him a season long loan to put himself in the shop window.Could work out ok for us just paying wages instead of a transfer fee also gives use more time to convince him to stay.

No, it should be a permanent transfer or nothing. We can't go on the way we have been using loans, it means every summer you lose two or three key first team players who then prove difficult to replace, you can't build a team like that. And if he doesn't think enough of us to want to sign permanently despite the fact that he's going to be handsomely paid and play every week, then I don't want him back on loan for a year anyway.

I think its getting him here permanent thats taking him so long to make his mind up,was just an idea a loan deal is better than no deal at all.Its took a lot of time up so far could do with it being resolved or move on to the next target.

Not so sure about that mind. How many clubs outside the top 6 keep their best players for even 2 years now?

But at least if you own them you can actually make money when they go, and reinvest that, rather than papering over the cracks with loans year on year. We seem to find ourselves in the same position every year, falling back on loans not just to cover holes in the squad but as key first team players, which gives you no chance for stability whatsoever.

I've no doubt he'd rather come on loan, but that's a situation that does us very little good really, I'm happy to wait until deadline day to get him because I do think the lad is a good player, but if we end up going to deadline day and then bringing him back on loan we'll be back in this situation next year again, I just can't really see any great advantage in it for us.
