Northern Echo, Borini deal..

I am still sure Borini will come. The penny will drop that he will be spending a season in the Liverpool U21s. Whether that's today, tomorrow or Transfer Deadline Day, it will happen eventually

We need to calm down, Poyet is making statements and there are a multitude of meanings being applied to them. I'm frustrated that we've spent this long chasing the lad but I'd be surprised if we didn't have contingency IF the lad and his entourage decide the move isn't right for him/them.
It appears the contingency is to get some other clubs reserves on loan near deadline

which, to me, is a bit pants!

If the borini alternatives are loans and we don't spend the 14 million tht is clearly available that's a bit of a joke

Loans solve nothing

Errrr Loans solved problems for us for the last few years......

He'll keep the £14m until January won't he ? By then the fee will have dropped and we'll need £1m to pay for the removal of the bench from Borini's arse.....

So we are believing an article with no quotes or anything over the facts of, we have had a bid accepted, Poyet and SSN have basically indicated he wants to come and even though he is fit he was not even on the Liverpool bench yesterday

IF that's the case then I'd agree but we don't know. Just lots of interpretations of Poyet's comments, conjecture and artistic licence. It would be typical SUnderland to waste a month on one player only to end up at square one but I'll hope that the contingency isn't an out of favour striker at Liverpool or some such other.. Hmmmm...

That would be a disaster if we had to get a loan last day of the window, we know how badly that worked out last season with.....er.....ah.

We're a more attractive proposition than we were this time last year, so who's to say we won't get someone better in?

Do you really think so, after last season's dance with relegation from start to finish?
I think we are now the most unattractive we've been since we were promoted with Keane.

I have said all a long I thought we were in a good position. I think it's pretty slim chance of signing him now.

Been held up for weeks for whatever reason. Personally i think he is clearly stalling and doesn't want to commit himself here, which I don't blame him for. I wouldn't either.

If he hasn't got the message from Liverpool yet, he is very naive.

I think we're certainly on the up as far as how the media see us. Smiley friendly Gus in charge, the great escape etc.

I cannot see any other option / outcome than him signing. Poyet would not be coming out with half the stuff he did on Friday if he did not think he was coming here.

Pretty much exactly where I am with it all. Except I think he's daft for not committing, he will be lucky to get on the bench at Liverpool, so could waste a season of his career.
If he came and played well for Sunderland he may get the chance of another big move (not ideal for us but it's the way of football at our level unfortunately)

I'm not so sure now, what has stopped it for all this time?

Our apparent interest in Vargas is telling, he would probably be the borini alternative.

Apparently the hold up was this loyalty payment, unsure if thats still the case but a week or so ago this was the problem. In fsirness that article in The Northern Echo is just complete and utter guess work, i trust what Poyet was saying on Friday to be correct and the club are very confident he will sign
