Selling might be a good thing. We were offered 20 million for Kenwyne Jones and similar for Kone but didn’t take the deals and they subsequently left for a lot less. Given this, it makes a lot of sense to sell when a player’s stock is high.
We do run the risk of stagnating with this however, just being a mid table championship side that develops youngsters to sell on (to clubs like Brentford and their prem money) without achieving anything more and never getting promoted. This would start to seem like a disaster after a few years, and not a fair reflection of a fanbase and club that has the potential for regular premier league football.
