Non League Football

Sunderland West End have (already) issued a rallying cry for more spectators now they've returned to Ford Quarry Complex after a year of playing at Nissan. One of the few NL grounds I haven't been to so I'll likely pop along Wednesday for their game v Boldon.

No more than 2 going down from NL2 and I think Durham and Washy already have those places sown up.
Went to watch west end v easington in a pre sesson friendly. West end had a big squad out. Management team seem to be making the numbers up now on a matchday.

Watched Crook beat Billingham Town 2-1 last. Enjoyable game, Crook started brightly and went 2 up before Billingham came right back into it. Billingham had a penalty well saved too. Special mention for how bad the referee was, had a stinker in my opinion.
There was a section on total sport on BBC radio Newcastle last night about non league, it was on around 19.00. May be on every Friday night

Was at Sunderland RCA in the FA Cup got beat 4-2 against Stockton Town.
Stockton 2-0 up after 20 odd minutes, the RCA storm back to make it 2-2 then hit the bar on the stroke of half time.
First 20 or so of the second half and it’s even stevens but then Stockton take control end the stronger side scoring twice their left winger is the difference looked a helluva player.
A great hard fought FA Cup tie though.

From what I know a fan behind the goal stuck the keeper, so the fan behind the goal got one back in the kisser
Keeper got covered in beer as Shields fans celebrated behind the goal. I was on the side so couldn’t see what went on but my lad who was right next to it reckons the keeper hit the fan 1st and the lad retaliated 🤷‍♂️
The club should ban him. Can't have fans attacking players.
My lad was behind the goal and he said the keeper threw the 1st punch and the fan retaliated 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, Stockton controlled 2nd half, thought RCA might have had momentum 2nd but nevermind. Left winger was excellent and the holding midfielder who made them tick.

The shildon manager said there was 10 people attacking the goalkeeper , should be easy to see on the highlights and get the red card rescinded

the left winger for stockton was sharpe like, if RCA take that chance before half time instead of hitting the bar they go in 3-2 up and it might have been a different game, best team won overall though
