Non League Football

Good game at St James' Park last night, Alnwick with a last minute winner for a 3-2 victory over Wallington. End to end good advert for the Alliance.

they're both good tbh, Chester has the brand new clubhouse Birtley seem to have the better team

Chester's top man is red and white Birtley is 100% skunk
I used to have a lad who worked for me,if I’d known at the interview he was a mug I wouldn’t have given him the job,who reckoned there was a black and white connection between both towns.

Benfield v Billingham Town last night:

1-0 Benfield (2 mins)
1-1 (5 mins)
2-1 Benfield (7 mins)...
2-2 (about 35 mins) - pen
HT
Benfield then went on to miss a penalty before scoring towards the end of the game, making it 3-2.

Cracking match.

Farsley v Chester for me today. Don’t live far from Farsley and watched Chester quite a bit during my uni days. Not a great welcome from my former hosts mind. Told me to fuck off when I told them I didn’t really know the area when asking for directions  Good job I know they’re not all like that

Canny crowd, shit game. Our finishing was atrocious.
Goodjob we have a good keeper cos our no9 couldn't hit water if he fell off the Shields ferry.
Not only him by the way.
Chance after chance first half, should of been 3-4up half time
The Full time pros team run off their feet at the end.... Fenton playing tinker man dropping Osei...on the plus side Hunter was outstanding

Hunter is without doubt there for the money. He should be playing in the league above so I hope Shields get promoted.

I was at Morpeth Town tonight, got beat 3-1 against Bamber Bridge unfortunately.

The quality of football was quite decent considering the level, where both teams passed the ball around nicely, instead of just huffing it up long.

I was also impressed with the facilities and recent renovations at Morpeth where the owner has invested in a new artificial pitch. Previously if it was quite rainy matches were often postponed.

Not under any pressure at all, would have been surprising and really impressive if they sustained that start to the season. Defence is pretty poor and their keeper is not very good at all, finally got dropped after he chucked four into the net over the space of a few games at Christmas.

Don't like the new ground though. Been a few times and not a fan so far.
Where are they playing now, Blackwell?
Newton Aycliffe 2 - Crook Town 3

They have Liam Noble and Ryan Donaldson so I am surprised they are getting beat week in week out. Very surprised Mark Yeates is at Bamber mind.

Aye the old pitch was marginally better than the common around it when it rained.

We used to play on the main pitch as teenagers all the time back 10-12 years ago. It was atrocious back then. Could just walk in that was how little they cared about it.

Ken Beattie has been amazing for the club.

Shame they've started so poorly. Odd as the team seems to have better players starting than when they were challenging at the top. Some of the stalwarts are bench players now.
