Still in better condition than the old Baseball Ground. Actually on a serious note I was at the Consett Hebburn 4 4 draw last week ( 610 gate highest in NL so far ) and was impressed with the quality of football and the synthetic pitch. Funnily enough I turned up to watch Shields play Stalybridge Celtic a couple of weeks ago. It was raining. The sprinklers were on. And the ball was slowing down on the sodden turf as the match progressed . I sometimes wonder at the decisions made in football. We have all seater stadiums where fans stand for 90 minutes. Shields lost today. I was at SOL. But they are doing really well and my mate who was there said they were better than Lancaster. But Cloughie and onion bags might disagree .....
