Huge update 1.3 out. (Well, 1.32 now with bug fixes).

Really has turned into a cracking game, well worth a shufti for anyone interested in giving it another look. 60% off on Steam and I think £15 on PSN.

Aye, but is there much more to actually do that actually does something? Building bases and shit is all well and good, but what does it achieve?

I was going to give this another blast the other week but I think I might have lost my save in a computer crash and not going through all that bollocks again.

I was reading about this update the other day but wanted to hear what actual players thought of it, think it might be time for me to actually buy the game now.

That was my thought, when there is effectively infinity planets why bother building bases.

You can set farms away and build storage containers. There's also a base teleporter so you can teleport to and from other systems straight back. Good to make money.

There's also "base missions" which give you blueprints to buiild things.

Might dip back into this. Haven't played since before the foundation update.
Anyone who's played it since reckon I'd be better off starting again from scratch or just picking up where I left ofoff

Mine got delivered from CEX the day before launch and I took it back two weeks later for a full refund. Easily the most pointless game ever made.

I've never really looked into it, was aware of a lot of hype and massive disappointment. What actually is it? Just an exploration sim or?

Bought it on day of release. Thought it was fun and didn't deserve all the online anger (because I wasn't latched on to every interview/conference Sean Murray made in the buildup to release), even though the game felt a little empty/meaningless.
Got bored of it a month or 2 in, then started playing again after they included bases and the ground vehicles. Enjoyed that a lot but bored again 2-3 weeks after that.
Played again once since 1.3 launched. Maybe I need to give it more time, but this latest update hasn't given me any new reason to play again. I really liked the 'get some gek nip and I'll give you a new gun for your car' stuff the base dudes would give you in 1.2... is there more of that in 1.3, or is it just 'do this job for some cash' missions?

Played it yesterday, started a new. After about an hour i fell into a giant invisible hole and got stuck drowning in radioactive soup.
