Nissan

Anyone else struggling to get a new Nevos? Ordered a replacement in June and just been told latest collection date is now December, having previously been told September and October. They were calling non production days last month as too many unsold cars, doesn't make sense?

My sister just got her new one last month. Only had the last one for 10 month and from them asking to renew, till picking it up only took 4 weeks.

Mate ordered his 6 weeks ago ish gets it soon just signed agreement and got new insurance today

There is too many due to retire anyway to offer redundancies would be stupid to juts give so much money away when people are leaving anyway
That isn’t how Nissan works and never has been. If it makes sense financially in the short term they would offer a package. I never thought it’d be a possibility, but the way the markets going it’s becoming more likely.

After 20 years in Nissan I'm leaving in a months time to do something totally different working days, worked shifts all my life. Don't know how I'm gonna feel , it seems weird.nissan isn't as bad now as it used to be. Mind I work in the warehouse so it's different to the line. But with the build down people don't seem as stressed these days. Going to work hasn't been a dread since covid days tbh. It's a corrupt set up where the licky arses will come out on top, if you're willing to change into that person they love it. There's probably worse places to work

Good luck in whatever you do mate.
Cant think of any ex Nissan worker that I know who has regretted leaving.
I deliver to 4 different places on the plant and you rarely see the same person twice so there seems to be a lot of staff moving around.
Its a strange place right enough

In 1992 they started lots of staff for production of the new micra 6 months later they offered a redundancy package to the new starters cannot remember what it was few months pay and pension contributions back, a few put in for it but got knocked back.

I was grafting away in the Unit shop then and all these new starters came in, we all said why do you need that many for, they said oh new Micra's gonna fly out the door.
As you said 6 months later a big downturn and some that had only been there 4 months got about 6k to 8k to leave, they were all buzzing the ones that got it in Unit I recall... :)
