Well they do but what the plan probably was in 2010 hasn't really came off very well and action was needed to put it right, electric route with no hybrids and having to bring Mitsubishi into the equation.
Now with the way the diesel market is going things will need to be done to ensure market share does not fall too drastically to actually put the company in serious trouble.
That has absolutely nothing to do with Brexit more a scare mongering tactic that governments brought in that has totally destroyed customer confidence in buying diesel cars in Europe and has put a huge spanner in the works.

Not just for Nissan mind, all manufacturers.
