Nissan

It’s nothing to do with Brexit, car sales especially diesels are down considerably throughout Europe. It’s been coming just took a bit longer than I thought. Overtime tomorrow believe it or not.
bbc broadcast exactly that this morning, in the main, just down to diesel engines. It will not be the only factor of course, but experts are saying it is the main factor.

apparently and lads of here will confirm, that Nissan are giving some of the affected workers the chance to retrain and the workers have been given a far fuller debrief than the press

@Big Duke Six @benizz

I think we might see a U-turn from our government tbh but we'd also need to see the US and Canada follow suit to really help, Nissan has been hit by Euro diesel sales and JLR has been hammered by N America.

Hopefully Brexit might see changes for the better with regards that, the remoaners will see it as a 'I told you so' moment despite it not being a Brexit issue, also forgetting that 1 ops job lost at production can lead to 10 other ops losing work in the supply chain, gobshites.

Fingers crossed lads, Nissan are very much prepared for the engine changeovers coming, JLR are not imho. I was at SVO at Gaydon recently, nothing is changing fast enough.

You’re right, I work at JLR Solihull and we had a tough meeting on Monday where they told us 1000 of us from a possible 1800 will be gone by the end of next month.

They have been ridiculously slow, especially with regards to producing electrically powered vehicles and now I think I’m about to pay the price.

We supply JLR through Lear amongst others. Probably 65 - 70% of our production is JLR with about 20% Nissan. Tough times ahead.

I'm not reading too much into this 2018 is gonna be a shit year malarkey, they've wanted high earners off the books for years, and let's not forget, it's pay negs year, it just wouldn't be Nissan if they didn't start with the doom and gloom leading up to it.

It's the same every time, sew the seeds of doubt, come up with a Package to reflect the markets, offer a cash sum just before Xmas so the knackers that can't understand that 1% forever is better than £750 now, get the offer accepted and then make all the positive announcements in the months following

I'm not much of a cynic. Honest

Look you tit, you talk some shit. I corrected myself on the pound crash, sorry that it was only *one* of the biggest ever. As for banking - I didn't say left, I said LEAVING. I would give more details, but I'm not allowed to, but you'll see soon enough.

As for the educated people leaving, again its already happening, as I said go on the forums of various professions and see for yourself. Many have left already, many more are investigating options. The EU, USA/Canada, Australia, SE Asia are the places most people are headed or have already gone to. I'm one of them. It's not exactly something the government are going to shout about, is it?

Now we have Land Rover and Nissan shedding jobs. I guess its all one huge coincidence.....

You're a f***ing headcase lad, I know this for a fact but I can't go into further details because I'm not allowed to but you'll see soon enough. Xx

not to mention the furore re diesel cars. people are fed up, that the government encouraged people to buy diesel and now this, they are getting kicked.
take into account that people are basically hiring cars for a 3 year period and handing them back, which will cause issues with the 2nd hand market
does not help when the media want to give the government a kicking they just mention Brexit.
corbyn and his doommungers have uk in a terrible state where nobody has a hope. were all doomed a tell ya, doomed.
eu are still trying to stop Brexit with their tactics. They don't want UK they just want our money and they don't care how they get it.
So the Diesel part is the UK government? (I really don't know, not been following that part) The leased cars could be halted at any time by the UK government by changing taxes etc, yet somehow its Corbyn and the EU's fault? The UK *is* in a terrible state and has been for years and years, its one massive reason I left. And of course the EU are trying to stop the UK leaving, who would think otherwise? The money part is money owed by the UK for programmes etc that have already started or been agreed, again a surprise to no-one they want it paying, plus they want a penalty for leaving, again why is anyone surprised by that?

:oops: f***ing hell man, watch it, getting so angry and abusive about fuck all.

‘You’d give more details but you’re not allowed to’ how many beers you had today marra?

Btw

whole industries starting to move out like banking, educated immigrants leaving’

That’s what you said - that’s utter bollocks, it’s what you think may happen because of the remain campaign lies.

And educated folk may be leaving, but the migration of eu nationals and non eu is still massively in surplus
(Some 285,000 non-EU citizens arrived in the UK in the 12-month period to September, and 80,000 departed)
This gives a net increase of 205,000, the highest for six years.

which seems to be that educated people are coming, unless you think everyone coming is thick. Like I said - the highest number for 6 years. Doesn’t seem like a country in mortal danger of collapse like you think.

Anyway, enjoy your evening, try not to abuse strangers on a message board, especially when you are proper itk about the whole banking sector , with privileged info you can’t share to anyone - ffs
Its not "Leave campaign lies" its from people I know working at high positions in those industries. Which is also why I can't give any more details - if you knew the people at the level I do, you would be in the same position - and I've had zero beers. You don't know if its utter bollocks or not, BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW THE PEOPLE I DO.

As for the immigration - sure, there are lots coming in. With what skills and experience? Compare with the ones leaving or who have already left. It would be truly interesting to compare.

You're a f***ing headcase lad, I know this for a fact but I can't go into further details because I'm not allowed to but you'll see soon enough. Xx
Shut up you know-nothing. I've already said why, its because I actually know important high up people. And you know.......who?

No, I don’t know if it’s utter bollocks.
It could happen, however I don’t think it will,
You think it will happen - that’s what you should have said , but you said it as a fact.
It’s not a fact. Whole industries are not leaving. Whole industries may leave.
That’s why what you wrote was bullshit , because it was total hyperbole of your own theory,

Surely this country will grind to a halt of they ban diesels? Think about all the vans/lorry’s carrying goods up and down the country - wtf are they supposed to do? Run on a 1 lite hybrid electric milk float?

Absolute pile of shite.

We supply JLR 100% and have been told we are closing and everybody is being made redundant.

Ive got an idea....everyone who doesnt work at Nissan just fuck off and spout your pointless shite somewhere else and let the lads and lasses who work there have a bit craic about whats going on.
Some serious bellends on here

Awful news mate hopefully you can get alternative work sorted soon, if you don't mind me asking which supplier is it you work for?

It's standard SMB though really, theres lads on here who i know work in Nissan and JLR, bringing rational thought and the facts of the Nissan job losses and it's being overshadowed by childish bickering about Brexit and the EU.
Embarrassing as ever.

I wouldn't argue with the Tory toss-pots! One of the candidates in Sunderland admits to dressing up & painting a Hitler moustache on his face and having a shrine to Margaret Thatcher!

I've been canvassing for the Labour party for the upcoming local elections and from our returns (comments) the Tories have been putting it around that they are responsible for
1) Nissan being in Sunderland (but it's the council fault for the redundancies)
2) Repairing and re-surfacing the roads (they haven't got the votes or the ear of the various bodies) but not the pot-holes
3) Barnes Park renovations (One or two Tory Councillors) might have been joined 'Friends of Barnes Park'(?) but as 2)
4) Every improvement however little made in the city (once again no clout)

while
5) the council is to blame for the city centre (The Bridges & most of the buildings are owned privately)
6) people letting their dogs shit on the pavements, in the cemeteries and parks (blame the owners - in the past the now sacked street cleaners would have cleaned it up)
7) Noisy seagulls
8) parking (even when they voted not too join a permit scheme)
9) immigration & refugees (immigration nothing to do with the Council & refugees are sent to us to be housed with little central government financial help).
10) everything else including fly-tipping (culprits tend to be private firms paid to take domestic waste or e.g. builders not paying for tip permits and dumping).

The Tories claimed to have balanced the national budget (by slashing the grants to council - so we are saddled with the debt or have to decimate services) but the national debt has nearly doubled to £1.9trillion.

There were no bigger liars than Remain. In fact they couldnt stop lying. When you base your entire campaign on lies and tell us that leaving the EU it will lead to WW3 then we know that credibility wasnt their strong point. As for 17m half wits, imagine how many half wits there would have been without Project Fear? 20m?

Not only that but the fact that remain couldnt even entice "half wits" to vote for their cause sums it all up. If you cant get half wits to vote for you then you dont really have much of a case.

The correct decision was made even though the government are dragging their heels over the whole thing because they are utterly incompetent (but still better than wishy washy non working class champagne socialist London run millionaire public school educated Labour by a country mile).

****Daily Mail Reader****Alert****
A paper owned by tax-exiles (but who live here!), who were pro-Nazi in the 1930's and have more than 30 recent press infringements for lying (The Mirror has one)

If we are talking about Corbyn
wishy-washy - he was known to a be pro-leaving and is campaigning for a fair trade-friendly Brexit
non working class - very working class
champagne socialist - tee-total socialist
London run - must be Khan
millionaire - by reasons that his house has trebled in price since he bought it
public school educated - don't think he had much say in the matter, his family thought it would give him a leg-up
Labour - much better under Corbyn

As for the £350m per week from the EU we were told it would be re-paid within weeks but the very next day after the referendum Farage said 'it wasn't going to happen!'
