Friend of mine's brother is an engineer with Nissan in Barcelona. Last week he was sent to Tangiers to help look for site of new macro- factory. He says it is direct threat to the future of the Sunderland plant.

God help Sunderland, the region and our club if this is true.

So because of Brexit Nissan want to shut the Sunderland plant and open a new one in Africa?

Why would they go somewhere outside the EU? If it was cheaper there going forward it would be cheaper now so they'd already have gone to Tangier.

Wage suppression is the obvious answer, however, Morocco started talks in 2013 about joining the DCFTA which is essentially a stealth move into the single market. The intentions of which are to try and help surrounding developing countries bring their economies up to EU standards. Tunisia are also negotiating to join.

Hope to god it is shite. Man who told me is Catalan and is completely unaware of our clubs existence. In fact, he mentioned the "Newcastle" factory.

We will be in a jam if it happens.
