Saw them at the Mayfair in 1991 and they blew me away, but then again everything was excellent then!! Nevermind is still an amazing album, bleach is grim, I find it hard to listen to but very good. Lost interest with In Utero etc

Same here.

Great band. Another highlight from their Unplugged album is the cover of Leadbelly's 'Where did you sleep last night?'

Hauntingly beautiful.

Hated them when I was a kid but love em now, was into dance music, Stone Roses etc at the time and teenage years blinkered me,

Love them now, interested to see what people think of them, this is my fave footage of them....

Remember watching that broadcast live back in the day. Superb band, superb album, and when the opportunity to see them at the Mayfair came up I couldn't be arsed cos I thought cobain wasn't the best at singing live!

Mixed feelings, they made some fantastic stuff but were overhyped to fuck.
They also made some absolute shite, but when they got it right it was spot on.
Love this, http://youtu.be/3OlxKVa7BHA , who cares if it's a cover , sums them up to me.

The band was so good Dave Grohl was only the drummer. Would love to think what the band could have become if Cobain hadn`t topped himself after seeing what the Foo Fighters have become.

Meaning with his playing skills as well as writing skills. Ie he plays guitar sings v.well, Drums and god knows what else. I would have loved to see what Cobain/ Grohl could have went on to achieve

Kurt didn't think much of his skills other than drumming, if you remember Grohl had been around and was more well known on the scene that he was.
He wasn't allowed to do as much ofhisown thing as he wanted.
Try and listen to Milk, the EP Grohl made when still in Nirvana, it's where the earliest (and best IMO) Foo Fighters stuff came from.
