Am about to inherit a couple of Nikon bodies, a D700 and a D810 with an old 50mm 1.8 and a 2.8 70-200.

If I was to leave one lens on each body, what way around would I be best doing it and why? The 50 on the D700 and the 70-200 on the D810?

Ta.

What's the idea behind it when they're so easy to switch lenses?

but yes, I'd do it the way you said. The prime on the older body, you'd assume it'll AF that little bit quicker than the zoom, helping out the older AF system on the d700

Going to try and take some decent photos of the children, easier to grab a different camera than to switch lenses. If I was out and about and had the time, then yeah, would just swap them as and when. Thanks for answering though, and confirming
